MS3 + Used Miata or S2000?

I did give the honda credit where it's due. But it's definitely the mazda that doesn't get enough credit. If not for the miata, there wouldn't even be an s2000...

Also, if your just interested in a 14 second quarter, the mazdaspeed miata is clearly the answer.

I owned a 2000 S2K, as i said previously. I have owned nearly 40 cars, and I would have to say out of my "nice" cars it was my least favorite.

I have driven the 2.2 since, and still not my cup of tea. I had the car a month before I traded it in.

It rattled, wind noise was almost unbearable, had to have the stereo up pretty darn good to hear. It road like a buck board, and the only time it felt fast was going down hill. Not to mention for my size it was a bit cramped and for a four banger it got the same mpg as my vette did. Also give me a traditional tach anyday. What finished me off was getting pulled by a LT1 f-body.(blarf)

I remember one time, I was shifting and the stick shot of gear and put a welt in my hand.(2thumbs)

Good things about it was the car looked good, vert fun, and handled damn good. Oh, and the push button start was neat.

So I just realized that I fit choice (a). I own a MS3 and a "used" Miata.
I won't go into the debate over how a Miata is better (or not) than an S2000, but if given the choice between keeping the two cars I have now or trading them both for an S2000 of any year, including the new CR, I would definitely keep my two cars.

Why?
I have one car with power, great handling, and the practicality of space and comfort combined with acceptable gas mileage. The other car is a roadster that is cheap to maintain and tons of fun to drive and mod.
I have two fun cars that meet all of my needs.

In case anyone cares, my Miata has the following anti-gayness modifications:
- home-grown SRI
- P&P and milled head
- Jackson Racing anti-sway bars
- adjustable heim joint end links
- Koni shocks
- Ground Control coil-over kit
- Thermal R&D stainless exhaust with test-pipe
- Jackson Racing header
- turn signal intakes
- billet shift knob
- push button start
- Sparco racing seats with Sabelt 6-point harnesses
- Hard Dog roll-over bar
- video camera mount
- 16x7 5-spoke wheels with 205/45 Kumho Ecsta in front and 215/45 in rear
- 13x9 Diamond Racing with 245/50 Hoosier Autocrosser
- Driver Mod

No, I suppose I don't need it to run 14 second quarters I'll have the speed3 to do that. What are the specs on the Mazdaspeed miata? How much $$ for a decent used one with not too many miles?

Welcome to my world, I have an MS3 and bought a miata.. had the miata as my daily till i just sold it a few days ago, kinda wish i havent. Its light, rwd, great mpg, a little too hard on my ass, but overall for the money - best choice.
