Another new addition!

Before Georgia, I think the last place I lived with emissions testing was Alaska. I know they didn't have it in Wisconsin, and I don't recall it in Virginia, though I wasn't driving at that time, so never had a vehicle to know. Before I moved here, I didn't know WTF a sniffer test even was.

we has none....i think they might be bringing it back in 09, but i havent heard a definite

I finished my car today, just waiting for the rtv to cure before adding oil. and I assembled the hoist and stand so I can start working more on the 7!

After all this chitter chatter about having cats that reduce emissions and cats that might not pass sniffer tests and making sure the OE ones aren't faulty and....

MAN I LOVE G-Wood!

...see living in Oakwood/Gainesville can be a benefit. Moving to Winder next year won't even change that!

your speed is OBD2 anyway so you wouldnt have to worry even if you were in an emissions county

I know that Northern VA has emissions, but I think out in the stocks may not. That was why I owned the Wagner shorty header.

I lived in Hampton and up in Fairfax county, so I probably just wasn't aware of my parents going to get their cars emissions tested.

Yes. However, when my check engine light flickered on, I wouldn't have passed an emissions county. Plus, if I just felt like it, I could just completely chop my exhaust all to hell and make it sound like a ricer and the county wouldn't do s*** about it. Or, I could buy a catless exhaust. So, anyone got a cheap/free catless they want to get rid of?

Step 1.) Drive car to exhaust shop
Step 2.) Ask to have the cat cut out of the midpipe and plain pipe welded in it's place
Step 3.) Write check for $50
Step 4.) Use non fouler method to get rid of annoying CEL.

Or alternatively

Step 1.) Cut a hole in a box...

So... it's that simple? Hell, I wouldn't even have to pay anyone. I know a guy who worked at the GM plant for 30 years. He is the guy who ported and polished that GTI VR6 Turbo (as he was the guy's dad). He's probably the best welder I've seen.
