Short shifter

I really want the TWM short shifter, but heard that there could be problems with the syncros. Has any one with a mazda 3 short shifter had any problems, or have any suggestions?

I've had the ARK shifter in for a few months now, it's all good.

I'm not a tranny expert, but the 2.3L has a G35M trans, a possible sibling of the G25M in my 1st gen Protege. These are pretty sturdy trannies, untill you raise the boost and got nutz. 350-400whp was about all the G25M could take and it wasn't all that reliable. 200-250 range was a good comprimise, with a turn of the knob at the track. I've used, as many others have too, short shifters for years...my Protege is now 15 years old Just an FYI.

where did you hear this info about the syncros?

I was the first one with the shifter and i highly recommend it not just because i'm sponsored by them but because of the quality of the product, there customer service and the improvement over stock. A new version of it, how about calling it the right version of it. They should remove the first screwed up one and just sell the right one. AND they should fix the ones that they sold already.

I have the old version as you can tell, and would not recommend it. The new one though if it has the stock bend then I would. How could they have a good quailty product when they didn't even pay attention to the stock peice.
It works, but for a $190 short shifter it should have looked like it!

We will see what type of customer service they have. I will email them with my claim.

since they are offering both "styles" still i am pretty confident you are not goin to be able to get a replacement, though maybe you will..... either way good luck and i am kinda glad i have been waiting on the perf type mods... things like this and prices are what are holding me back want more dist so demand for product doesn't determine such a high ass price!!

I agree.
The "first version" was definitely an oversight/design flaw.
The "second version" is the only version they should have made.

Screw them; Im going to make my own. I'll post detailed pics Monday.

PS, good luck getting the updated part from them. You deserve it if you bought the "first version".

Yeah let us know what they say cuz i hate where it sits in 5th gear and would def. like the new, right, version of it.
