Protephile's manifold

I got the manifold and it looks great. I was going to install it tonite but decided to heat wrap it, which took away the bling factor. Anyway here are some pics. So far everything seems to line up. Hopefully I will have the completed pics up tomorrow.

I hope those tie wraps were put on thier to just hold the wrap in place ttell you can get the proper clamps. I'm pretty sure that they will melt!

I noticed it before, and now I see it again ... is it just an issue with the pictures or is the flange warped (does it fit flush against the head)?

yeah it looks a little odd to me too

anywho, if it all fits well and everything, thats very exciting.

If you look carefully at the first picture, the flange is not cut in a rectangular shape, which makes it look really warped.

WHat I am wondering , has the company who fabricated them taken the extra steps to make sure that they are not warped, and or procedures to avoid that. Example: You heat the finished maifold's flanges with a torch until they are red hot, let them cool , and only then machine the flanges till they are flat, straight, and true ?

It's the warp drive.

No seriously, I'm sure the flange is fine. That's the last thing I was concerned about, considering Thunder already makes a perfect-fitting N/A header.
It's just the design they use for the 2.0 flange...iirc, it lines up with the stock gasket that way. But it's been a while since I installed my own.

I thought it looked funny too. I think it's because its not a rectangle, but it sits flush.

Gotcha ... I see it now. The middle/top of the flange has a little more material (and is not a rectangle).

Thanks for the pics. Keep us updated on the fitment. Hey miss_steele, is that oil all over the front of your head or soot from a previously leaky manifold?

Soot from the huge crack in my stock manny. Anyone know what I can use to clean that? Im scared to just go spraying it down with greased lightning.
