2025 CX-5 Signature "the Sig"
So, after a few back-and-forths with Toolbox support (NNG.com), they have relinquished responsibility for the app error and failed update. The message I received after providing them the directory structure of the SD card was:
WTF? So, they provide the app to update, but not the Nav information itself? What a friggin' mess. I don't actually need a Nav update. Heck, I just drive around town, no road trips. But I like to stay current.
In the end, Mazda should own this. I received both the software (Toolbox) and the data (SD card) from them, not some unreliable third party. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops after spending thousands just to get an update. But that's today's world - don't accept responsiblity, pass the buck.
Sorry, I'm just mad.
So, I'll call the dealer and see if I can get another SD card.
Edit: Wow! I pasted their response (in English) directly from the email and it translated it.
"Based on the provided information the navigation in your car is not provided by our company, but by another company, possibly by Telenav, so we could only advise you to contact the manufacturer of your navigation software to receive further information about the map update possibility of your navigation: マツダ コネクトナビゲーションシステム 地図データ更新ツール."
