Pissssssssssseeeeeedddddd

It should only be a 17mm nut that threads on to the bolt. The bolt end itself is a square. If it moves for some unknown reason get a pair of vise grips, clamp it down and hold it. while someone uses a long breaker/cheater bar for leverage. If the nut is stripped there's a nut breaker tool that breaks the nut off. So good luck and bust a nut! :D

always use 6 point sockets to avoid stripping things
if it does not turn, get a longer length of pipe
make sure you have good tools, I turned a breaker bar into an S once, I was tring to take the nut off that held the axel to the hub on my car, I had a 4 foot pipe and a solid steel breaker bar, I stood on the end of the pipe and it didnt move, I jumped on it and the breaker bar just bent, went to sears and picked up a craftsmen one went back home and got the thing off no problem

Mazda definitely has replacement ones of the proper material strength, but they are not cheap. (eyeballs)
