This thread is kinda funny and stupid all at the same time. The guy in the S2K probably thought you were a waist of his gas when he had a 3 to 4 car lenght lead and let off. I know I would. He was probably being sarcastic when he said that your car was fast when you thought he was complementing you. The reason why your story is hard to believe is because it is usually the other way around. You would get a jump and the S2K will run you down. Well as long as you consider it a kill that's all that matters......

Yes, however if both drivers knew how to maximas their cars and had no inhibitions from doing, and no mechanical problems limiting perfomance.....then no.
Now it is very possible that a combination of a bad start and not shifting high cost the S2000 the race. After all not everyone can launch a car like that and people not used to it will not be willing to shift only after the car runs into the red line which is insanely high on that car.
Heres another thought. You mentioned you ran with him up to 115 then overtook him after he had a big lead. The problem there is that sounds like he backed off and didn't want to go any higher. After all, that speed is not exactly safe.
By any know perfomance statistics of these cars there is no way for the MSP to overcome that distance without the S2000 giving up or from a MAJOR driver error. Its not a matter of people wanting to be assholes, it simply an impossibility in a true race with no major driver error.
Can we leave it that you ran with an S2000 and hung with him till 115 enough to get props from its driver? That seems to be of the most relavence.
I did the same to a 2003 S2000 60-120 mph. He pulled 1/2 CL from 55-70. After that, its all me. I won by 1/2 cl. I asked the guy if he slowed down and he said no.

the MSP is a lot closer to the 1/4 mile mark at 60 mph. according to your times, about 62 feet. doesn't sound like much, but it's over 4 car lengths. so the S2000 travels more than 4 extra car lengths in the same time as the MSP.
i'm not sure how that makes the MSP quicker. (uhm)
but since we're talking about trap speed...what exactly does a 98mph vs. 93mph trap speed mean? it means that the S2000 is pulling away from the MSP at 5mph at that point. so even if the acceleration rates become equal at that point (doubtful), the S2000 continues to pull away at 5mph.

The only evidence that can back up your claim is a listing of each cars 60-120 numbers. No distance involved. As most that have raced with the same cars will tell you. The S2000 will pull away as it hits it upper range while the protege struggles.
