Indiglo Install?

zooooooooom, did you figure out why yours shorted out?? Mine did this evening, but when I turned the car off and started it again, they came back on. Weird...

One of the gauges had come loose from its harness, so it was causing it to severe all connections to the gauges. Now they work just fine :D

My gauges shut off as I was comming home from work at 5am this morning! Not a good time to piss me off. I called them a few, actually a lot of choice words then went to bed.

Got up at 11:30am and drove to get CO2 for my paintball gun tank and they worked again.

In conclusion the way to fix the gauges when they shut off is swear at them.

Later:D

I think they are cheaply made so therefore, we get tthem at a cheap price, but we pay for it in quality. I came to the conclusion that the connectors are bad, and easily come loose, especially after some spirited driving ;)
So the best thing to do is to mount that little black box thingy somewhere so it won't move around and possibly shake loose the connections, and if they do go out, don't panic, just turn your old gauges way up so you can at least see the needles to get home, and check the connections in the morning.

Gauges are in. They look bad a$$.

Big thanx to smithers and zooooooom. Your directions were great. The cut placement made it easy to slide guages on.

Thanks,

Moeed

Yup, no problem. I have since taken mine off because i got tired of having to take apart my gauge cluster every few days to make sure the connections were ok, because mine kept shorting out. But i want to put them on again after i look at pics of how badass they were. Good luck to everyone else trying to put these on :)

thats wierd that your short out so easily.
Is your ground loose? I electro taped mine to the bolt under mph gauge.

No mine was the connectors that connected to the gauges themselves. No matter what i did, they'd always come loose, so i said **** it, and took them off.

Mine have only shorted out once, a couple days after I installed them. Since then (4 months) they've worked great. By far my best mod.

yeah mine are a bit sketchy like that, just turn them off for more than 3 seconds, then turn back on is all sweet... its one of your lead bouncing, i found if i turn the headlights off then on, they stop working, but if i turn off for 3, then turn on all is sweet....

WOOOHOOO!!!!!

I didn't break a needle!!!!

Just wanted to thank you guys for the details on the cuts. I thought I broke the tach went it finally slid over, it was definitely the hardest one.

I got the reverse indiglos from procarparts.com. I also added the brushed aluminum rings from daveb, and together they look really nice.

My camera is not that great, especially at night shots of my gauges:) The color just never comes through right.

The first pic shows the layout, and the second displays the color a little better, but you can't really see how sweet they glow in either one.

Went at it with my cluster tonight. The first one was the tach and didn't have patience so I slightly cut it to fit it. However, the speedometer and temp/fuel gauges went on without cutting. You've just gotta take your time. Press the needle *down* with a finger while you slide the overlay around it.

Nice job...it truly takes talent to get those things on without cutting. I never even tried...I cut and it STILL took me forever.

mspeedpro and I were talking about that actually. I have no problem putting the gauges on so if someone could find a second cluster to use, they could ship me theirs and I'd do it. :D

Guys, its really not that hard.
