Headlight Issues - Keep Blowing

:
Mazda CX-7
Hey Everyone,

So I have searched high and low and I have yet to find a forum thread discussing my issue, so here it goes.

I have a 2010 Mazda CX-7, bought it brand new in 2010 and is currently out of warranty. About a year ago, I had my driver side low beam headlight burn out. So, I went through the hassle of replacing it through the fender as it was recommended. I never touched the glass part of the bulb during the install and did nothing to cause no harm. Finished putting it back together and everything worked perfectly. About a few weeks went by and then the passenger side low beam headlight burned out. So, I went through and replaced that one the same way I did the drivers side, worked perfectly. About a month or so goes by and the driver side burned out again. This time, I replaced both at the same time thinking that maybe they needed to be replaced in pairs, they worked perfectly again. Then, about another month goes by and it burns out again. At about this time, I am getting pretty irritated because bulbs get expensive and I hate how hard it is to replace these bulbs through the fender. I got the idea of buying HID bulb for the car, 35W, 6000k bulbs, hoping that the ballast would help them from the bulbs blowing. I got them installed successfully and worked perfectly. I have had them almost a month and the bulbs do not blow. What they do do is not light up when I turn the lights on sometimes, usually just one. I then turn the lights off and back on and they magically work again. The HID's are working better than a traditional bulb because it is not blowing, but is very annoying with one side or the other going out when it feels like it.

I took it to the dealer and they said "oh, that is common on these vehicles, the bulb burn extremely hot and causes a lower life". I find a month very low life especially if you can't change it yourself because the dealership wanted about $100 for them to do it. The OEM bulbs when we got the car new last a few years. I have checked all of the fuses. This is only happening with the low beam, high beam work just fine.

I am very confused on what the issue is. Has anyone had this issue and how did you solve it? Please ask any questions if I was unclear.

Thanks!
