Laptop problem

Device Manager doesn't need to show a conflict for you to have bad drivers. That's why manufacturers constantly update their driver libraries because there are always bugs (in your case, YouTube) that cause incompatibilities. I would see if your soundcard has the most up-to-date drivers; if not, install them. Might also need a BIOS update, but unlikely.

Ok, I'll check later tonight. Thanks

+1

I installed the new up to date drivers that Dell had for my laptop. Still nothing. I might be doing something wrong though. When it comes to computers...I'm not that good. lol

i don't know how much stuff was in the driver32 folder before. i did just notice that it won't let me allow the "CREATOR OWNER" in the driver32. i click allow and apply and it kinda flashed and the allow box is unchecked again.

I'm still pretty sure its a driver32 issue and your permissions on the reg

No offense but I would never buy Dell.

No offense taken. I couldn't pass it up, I got it for $200 and there was nothing wrong with it..... at the time. This is the only problem I've had with it, so no complaints other than this.

I can understand that. I bought a Dell back in the day and have built custom computers for myself ever since.

If I could build pc's, I wouldn't have this problem lol. I just don't understand why the headphone jack puts out sound but the speakers don't.

Ever since Compaq ought out HP they have made a good computer.

computers... but not a laptop... everyone I know has had issues with them that have purchased one in the past four years.

Wait i take that back not every one. I do know of ONE person with no issues on their hp craptop.

Edit: I am not counting the normal dc jack and power cord issues that all laptops are prone to have over time.

The worst hp laptop to date that im aware of is the HP pavilion dv6000 series.... power button, speaker, video issues (defective main board I think), left click bottom goes out, wireless... i mean theirs not much more to go wrong in that laptop series... That pretty much leaves screen, rom drive, hd, ram for the most part.

Edit: Now dont get me wrong I'm not saying dont go buy a hp laptop but I wouldnt get one based on my experiences.

Yeah, I have never own a HP laptop myself, but have hear good things about them. I always buy Sony or just build my own computers so I cant vouch for anything except what I have ran myseft.

Damn, I'm glad I didn't get that.

I agree with you on only vouching for what you have experiance with. As far as laptops goes I had had a great deal of luck with my toshiba. I toss that thing around(obviously not on the floor but I had dropped it.) a lot. Grant its on the sofra, bed, and other soft surfaces. It hardly never gets shut off and if it does its becuase the car unplugged it and it dies.

The only problem I have had is the dc jack wearing out after 3 years. The dc jack doesnt require soldering or anything just rip it apart and plug in your new power jack.... most laptops you have to solder in a new jack... royal pain... Well my gf dv600 laptop it is like my toshiba as far as the power jack goes.

I have owned a Toshiba laptop, they make desent computers.
I was always told when I was in tech school that the average life for a laptop is about 2 years and the average life for a desktop was about 4 before you should just upgrade and reformat you hardrive, or just buy a newer computer. I built my desktop about 2 years ago(whenever Intel release the core 2 extreme) and it has been running real stong. The only thing I have had to upgrade was my graphics card. Other than that she runs perfect.
