What have you done to your P5 today?

are those gauges just press fit in then? Or how'd you mount em?

That does look very nice! hmm.....trans temp sensor?

So...still getting the rough idle and throwing the random misfire code...

Things I replaced...

Plugs
Wires
Coilpacks
Cleaned EGR
Cleaned MAF

Not sure what is next...in the morning we are going to check the timing and make sure it is right, but other then that anybody have any clue where to look next...

Anyone???

Rear end links?

Mine are new, but I must have had them installed wrong, i was having all kinds of clunking noises too, so I pulled them and the sway (is that a sway bar?) bar off and the noise is gone...

Was planning to attempt to re-install on Friday and hopefully see what I had wrong.

front end links...

and i think that's a sway bar

that gauge setup is nice too. it actually looks like it belongs there

Anyone???

^ my car backfired at one point last winter (long story short, the car doesn't start at temps below 40 degrees) and actually broke the MAF sensor. Two actually as I guess I didn't learn the first time. If you cleaned it though, I'm sure you would have noticed if it was there or not. When I compared mine to a pic on the internet, the entire thing was completely gone, haha...

Is your intake boot in good shape?

Miss-Fire code has to be just that though, right? I wouldn't think a bad intake boot or dirty EGR would cause a miss-fire code, could you have possibly purchased a bad coil pack? I'd suggest pull the plugs and look them over really well, and work your way up from there...

Let us know what you find out!

Thanks, I've got some weird popping coming from the front every now and then, but that noise went away (in the back) when I pulled that sway and those links. hmmmmmm

Cleaned her out today, prepping for the exhaust install when it shows up :P MAM Midpipe and Magnaflow exhaust - - quick question, ive never heard of MAM, who is this, google netted nothing...hows the quality?

Try "Mental Addiction Motorsports". They were once a vendor here that made some nice pieces for the community. However the owner wasn't too good at running a business.

MAM = Mental Addiction Motorsports

MAM was one of the first to R&D parts for Proteges (most notably turbo manifolds), and the general consensus is that their products were top notch (I only have their gauge rings and the fit was very good), however their communication, customer support, and speed were unreliable at best, non-existent at worst.

MAM had sort of a love/hate relationship with this forum, They started out as AV's but was stripped because of communication and customer support issues. They later gained their AV status back after the community decided to give them another chance, but it wasn't long before the complaint threads started back up and MAM was stripped of their AV status and we lost all communication with them. If you search for Mental Addiction Motorsports, you might find the BBB complaints on them, so it wasn't just us.

My advice to you, if you see someone selling a MAM part, then it's probably a pretty good part and you should consider it. If you are planning on buying from someone claiming to be Mental Addiction Motorsports, stay far away.

Im buying an MAM midpipe off another user of the forum, jsut wanted to know what i was getting myself into...ive heard of some other questionable midpipes

hey. just got my car back with the new endlinks.

there's no clunking, no strange noises, the steering seems firmer, the ride is smoother... all in all, my car's a lot more fun to drive now

next thing will be springs though...heard some squelching on some speed bumps

Did you use a hole-saw?

I used a dremel.

The PVC (2in) Fits perfectly. If not I would have done a single pass with some electrical tape on the outside of the gauge, on the opposite side of the silver part. Other than that it fits nice and tight. Engine oil temp. lol

oh, no, i was contemplating a trans temp sensor for me. lol

I already have a single DIN triple gauge pod with oil temp/pressure/engine coolant
