What have you done to your P5 today?

Sandwich plate came in - yay! Now I can finally repair my oil system and try a new approach with the oil pressure gauge.

I've been thinking about taking those off too....but we have a lot of retards in my works parking lot that like to just open their doors real wide.....so I knind need them, lol. Looks nice though, since I would have an idea as to what mine would look like.

If you think that hitting a seagull is bad, I hit an owl with my work truck a month or two back. It sounded like a watermellon getting smashed. At least there was no damage to the truck, although I can't say the same for the poor owl.

got tranny fluid changed. i put all 3 qts in but it didnt overflow the tip. didnt yall say to fill til it almost overflows/does overflow?

It will barely take a few more drops of a 4th quart=not worth it. First time I did my clutch with Royal Purple at $17/quart X 4=Almost 1 left over.

it wasnt level. maybe that's why it didn't overflow. my driveway is slanted quite a bit. :) so it's all good. i didnt even think about that. thanks! so it's good to go. it seems easier to get it into gear now. yea i used royal purple too. the specs for it says like 2.9qt i think it is. the gear oil is purple...surprise since its usually a red color, but royal purple= purple...guess it makes sense :)

how often do you guys change your transmission fluid? seems like a lot of people have been doing it lately...maybe I should jump on board. sometimes my stick doesnt rest right in the middle when it's in neutral...it gets kinda stiff and sticks in the left or right position even though it's in neutral... (?)

I've had 5 qts of Redline 10w30 and 3 qts of MT90 sitting in my garage for lilke 3 weeks now. I really need to get on this...

you only have to do it like every 30k IIRC but manual transmissions can last even longer, sometimes twice as long since the auto trans never gets all the fluid out b/c of the torque convereter etc. we have no filter correct?

Hmm....so I was wrong, lol.

wrong about what? it's goin good. shifting easier it appears, maybe its my imagination but it really seems to go into gear easier since i changed the fluid this morning. it was a dark brown so it def needed to be changed, almost looked like oil

I took my P5 to go look at new trucks today.

No I'm not getting rid of the Prote. Its almost paid off. When it is, I'll be selling my lifted 4X4 V8 Dakota regular cab and getting a 4-door 4X4 truck.
