What have you done to your P5 today?

Ordered some SPC camber bolts from CR3 Motorsports.

It was a year ago today that I brought her home. It's been a great year and here's to the next year. However, depending on my career placement by the end of the year, I COULD be in a new FR-S... maybe. I'll keep the P5 for my winter toy though. :)

Happy Anniversary!!!! What did you buy her? :)

started a new job this week. found out we get a decent discount on some new cars, but then also found out its for GM or chrysler. worthless!

Ummmm, time to start looking for a new job Kyle!!! :p

Put on the tires for my MS3 wheels, turns out 2 of the tires are no good, mechanic said I shouldn't drive with them. Thats what I get for buying tires at night in the back of a walgreens.

That sux dude!

Yeah, definitely not the best place to pick up rubber....

(rlaugh)

I sold her today.
I would have never guessed that all the work I put into my P5 would be gone.
But she just doesnt have enough power to get out of sketchy situations.

What would YOU do if someone offered $1,200 more than what you paid for it 2 years ago.

This forum is great. Such a family feeling. Not a high number of douche bags or new people that cant use the search bar.

I already miss her. But its time for a new adventure.

Thanks for everything

I hope the new owner keeps her as clean. Do you have a replacement, or something on the way?

At least keep in touch? Glad your return on investment was positive. Like 1991 said, any options as a replacement? Perhaps turn the new owner onto these forums (if he's not a douche- though im sure you've found a caring owner). Good luck with whatever motor you find next :)

the new owner is one of my old co-workers and we are pretty close so i know il see her pretty often. in fact, im pretty sure that im still going to be doing any repairs to it.

il let him know about 247 and make him do an intro.

In October I bought a 2011 Ninja 250r and thats all I ever ride now, thus the reason to sell.
I am now looking at a 1978 Datsun 620 pickup truck as a replacement 'rainy day' car.

So, I was driving today, and well, I got the flashing CEL :( I have no effing clue what it could be... If a sensor is thrown way out of normal bounds, could that do it?

Im so mad I could punch a wall... So freaking close! I drove it ten miles today in the wet. Maybe that could do it? I have 95 miles since the rebuild.

Could be a bad connection or short in a wire. If you can get the code to stay and read it, you would know what sensor. The wire could have been damaged in the rebuild

Would it stay if I took the negative batt cable off? Ill have to wait to insure it to drive it to oreileys. Hopefully that'll be soon cause I cannot stand knowing I messed my baby up.

Removing the battery/clearing the code will remove the light, but the car has to be driven 50-100 miles without a cel to clear the CPU and pass inspection

Okay. Thanks a bunch :) I'll let you guys know the code w/in a few days. I know I need to clean my IAC valve cause it almost died when I was at a light. I gave it some gas and it seemed to want to bog down. Its stuttered a few times when I stepped on it when I was going 25 in second gear- could that be a symptom???

I dont have inspection- luckily :) but id like that CEL gone!!!

I got a new EGR tube but I didnt clean the valve. The MAF is the sensor in the intake tube, correct? I gave that a clean if thats the case- unless its elsewhere

You're right about the MAF, it's the black section between tubing for the intake. There should also be a small black probe, temp sensor. The MAF has a very small sensor strip hanging down, there is a MAF spray to remove contaminants from the strip

Okay. I may have messed that up- I used soap and water to clean the outside off. Ill take a pic of the probe- maybe I messed the strip up? Could that have lead to the flashing CEL?

Just buy an OBD2 scanner and read the codes, it takes a lot of guess work out of everything. Or have it scanned at a local parts store for free.

And I only use MAF cleaner on the MAF sensor needle. The air intake temp sensor you can gently clean with soap and water.

I watched a friend try to clean his MAF sensor strip with an ear swab and break it. MAF cleaner only, things like alcohol and soaps can ruin it
