What have you done to your P5 today?

I think its safe to say we should talk to Phen regarding vanishing quarter panels?

My drivers side is on its way out, pass side is relatively unscathed. The same cant be said about parts of the frame, specifically what I think to be the rear pass frame rail? And just about everywhere else on the chassis...

I found out the source of my smoke machine- EGR pipe isn't sealed on the header all the way. And I need a new battery. I killed mine in front of my friends place today... I gotta remember to turn my lights off! (just took her for a spin round the neighborhood in the snow)

Should have her insured by the end of this month :) dads back in march so I think a months break in time should be adequate? Already pretty comfortable with driving her :D

phen definitely takes the cake in terms of arm-sized rust holes... I was more saying that I am seeing the infancy of those arm sized holes. I'm a long way from it, but I'm still almost in denial... lol

Took her back to the exhaust shop to find out the cause of the exhaust leak. The gasket that came with the Pacemaker header blew out. The shop gave me a new one for free :)

Here's a pic finally of the center piece they made to mate the header with my midpipe.

I've accepted that fact... I sort of embrace it. Though she's got a lot wrong with her, she's still mine! Only issue I have is that id rather it be switched where the drivers side has the pass side rust... I cant stand to see it when I walk up to her... But the hood, now thats another issue. On silver, rust shows up EVERYWHERE and it kinda aorta drives me nuts. My mom keeps whining about it but I cant do much about that...

Does she know that we drive a car that is 10 years old now... in the Midwest? The only thing you can do to prevent rust is get it all patched and move to AZ. Lol

I guess I'm the lucky one around here. I have some standard rear wheel well rust, a little around the badges on the hatch, and a few spots on some corners (i.e. doors). Other than some surface rust under the hood, that's about it. I would say she's pretty clean, but after the snow storms we just had, that wash and wax I did a few weeks ago didn't count. I can't wait for April though so she can finally SHINE!!!!

Ill take some pics in detail but yeah I keep telling her that. I look at other options I could have picked up for 4k but you know what, its my dream car and I got it myself.

I may just let it rust and buy another one in a few years. The inside is immaculate to the point where id swap them out if need be.

Originally from Chicago when I bought mine in 2001. Experienced one winter there and moved to Scottsdale AZ in 2002...... no rust on her and no snow to deal with ..... however summers are a killer on the interior .... 113F average

If you can catch the rust early enough, and a reputable shop does the work, I highly recommend having the work done. I hope no one ever compares to my rust

I think that's what I have for summer tires, they're quiet and grip well :)

Noted and also saw that the price on DTD went up $2 a tire from the last time I checked. Price of a barrell must have gone up. haha

tried to give mine a wash, but the hose is frozen, hehe

cant wait to get my summer tires back on. with how winter is going, probably mid march they will go on

My hoses are in the shed waiting for warm weather. And I need to buy a set of summer tires within the next month.

I'm just saying, I spent more time taking your car off of the badge than I did taking the badge off of the car.

So sad yet so comical.

i may need to find a place near by work for a wash. wouldnt bother me doing it now even though we will get another storm this weekend. its been too long.

gonna ask the shop that fixed my car up after its 3rd backing into what it would cost to fix up my rust. dont wanna get rid of the p5 anytime soon :D

We have alot of Foreign Used sellers here that occasionally come across stuff like this. Our Foreign Used cars also come from Japan, like mine' and at one time Singapore as well.

I know you just told me on facebook Ha Ha :)
Have a good sleep.

It was a year ago today that I brought her home. It's been a great year and here's to the next year. However, depending on my career placement by the end of the year, I COULD be in a new FR-S... maybe. I'll keep the P5 for my winter toy though. :)

started a new job this week. found out we get a decent discount on some new cars, but then also found out its for GM or chrysler. worthless!

Put on the tires for my MS3 wheels, turns out 2 of the tires are no good, mechanic said I shouldn't drive with them. Thats what I get for buying tires at night in the back of a walgreens.
