Jut removed cams, can't remove head yet becase I don't have the right Allen socket, the set I have is at work, anyone know what size they are?

I would be able to tell you, but the head is all boxed up right now.. just wish the guy that was going to buy them would get back to me.... but anyways switched the caliper/breaks in like 10min.. a whole crap load easier than I thought it was going to be, amazing what I have learned since the last time I screwed around with my breaks/calipers, and bled them.. put in the new break bleeders, and just started to mix the caliper paint from G2, gonna mix again and start painting on the coats! hope it comes out like it looks in the pic, I will be getting some pics up when I am done

Took my car to the Carlisle import show today. I kept hearing that it has died down a lot over the past couple years, but I think it was a pretty good turnout. Mazdas247 was represented pretty well I think. We had 4 MSP's and an MSM in our little group. Also saw an MS3, MS6, and various RX-8's. Had a ton of fun just chillin with the group and eating some of Jeff's awesome food on the grill. Very fun day, even though I'm burnt as s*** and reallllllllly tired now. haha.

Oh and Dino from Speedcircuit also informed me that I don't need a torque wrench to install my valve cover so that will go on hopefully soon!

if your talking about the tabs in front of the intercooler, I have been planning on cutting them for a while but have been lazy..lol

i wouldnt cut them off, i did it too mine and i kinda regret it cuz i can never run a front grill again, if u dont ever want to run one then i guess u can go for it lol

I have been thinking about this as well and I think I will just paint them black so they are hidden with my black intercooler. Not perfect, but it won't stick out as bad ya know?

I don't have a fmic and so have no reason to have tried it, but why don't you modify a stock grill to fit over the fmic? The grille doesn't cost much so it wouldn't break the bank to putz around with one a bit.

I assume you mean fab something that can mount where the grill would go using some other mounting points? If so, that sounds like a good idea.

mine is held in with zip ties around the center reinforcement bars because I was impatient and broke the mounting tabs off in removal. lol

Is your tank so tight to the back of the bumper that you couldn't squeeze a nut behind the stock mounting point so you could thread a short machine screw through it? If that would work you could screw the grill on from the front and just black out the hardware.

just got the thickness of three quarters shaved off my head cause i warped the head in the winter :(
but getting everything put back together.

I kept my grill off because the core is actually sitting too far out and touching the bumper tabs where the grill mounts. I kinda like the style of no grill though so I'm okay with it.

just drove it and got a weird rattle from behind the radio bezel. i love this car
