What have you done to your MSP today?

Silver MSP is now running. Time to tear apart the other motor and find out what is wrong with it.

heh. anything is lighter than stock msp harts... i think my mounted winter tire on 2005 mazda 3 15" wheels are lighter than just the msp rim was lol. ps, if anyone comes on here with white racing harts... please murder them escessively..

Not working on the msp at all these days but i spent some good hours this weekend taking my mx3 apart to do the head gasket ect. that car is a MFKER to work on.. no room, and just way too much shyte to remove.
getting the intake manifold off as a challenge in itself since there are a ton of tiny little s*** bolts holding hoses ect onto it.
car hasnt been serviced in the time ive known my wife, so even just getting the crank bolt out and pulling the crank pully was a real ordeal. had to buy tools ect.
budget for the timing belt this pay period is pretty much gone to tools lol.

ah well, as long as i get the msp off the road before 30+ degree temps, everything should be fine. I suppose my winter tires would probably survive one season of summer but my transmission is becoming livelier by the day.

Bought exhaust gaskets to put the stock exhaust back on the silvet car. Then the Corksport exhaust will be up for sale.

experimenting with the little freetime that i have. painted two of my wheels. wish i woulda spent more time on them. the sunlight was harsh so it was kind of hard to see :| coulda beeeeeeen better. oh well.

so for those that rocked the mx'5 wheels on their MSP, did they require a spacer to clear the strut/calipers? if so, will a 5mm spacer do? i think i remember reading that somewhere but i can't find it.

4 days late and I saw you figured it out but yes, you need to shim the MX5 rim in order to clear the larger caliper on an MSP. I'm running the Ichiba version 1 10mm spacers. I had to replace the OG lugs with the included longer studs.

BOT ~ Fired her up today and let her idle as she's been sitting in the garage for 5 weeks while I recover from shoulder surgery...(sick)

Stock exhaust is back on the silver car. Never realised how quite these cars are with the stock exhaust. The only mods she has now is the FMIC, 626 intake manifold, Mishimoto rad, and some springs. Kinda nice having one I'll be able to DD around after I pay her off.

The motor for the other car that is already taken out will be under the knife Thursday or Friday. Hopefully will have that one back up and running before the end of the month and back to some autoX domination :)

Soon.

I removed the side glass, motors and tracks. Also, mounted my seat, harness, remounted the dash and riveted the aluminum for the trunk floor in. Hopefully I'll be ready for the 3rd event here. (nailbyt)

Had smaller piping done, so it would not press against the Mishimoto Fans, new turbo inlet gasket and new plugs! Car is running even better......Corbeau seat and Safecraft 6pt Harness was installed a couple of weeks ago.

put new wheels on. how i feel like i need to paint my calipers

today, i missed mine.......alot.....

ms6 is doing pretty good but still miss #1490

I lost my job 3 weeks ago and only having another 3 weeks of financial stability left I started panicking and posted the MSP for sale all over the southeast. Luckily, i was offered a position yesterday evening, so I removed all but a couple of listings locally and within a couple of hundred miles just to see what, if any, interest there was in it. I wont sell it. I love it. Last night I dreamt that i rolled it and i wouldn't sell it and kept driving it with the roof smashed in and half the windows gone. Lol, thats the commitment you should have had Mike.

I have yet to really miss mine. I missed it most when I drove a crappy Monte Carlo but not at all since I picked up my wagon. I must be getting old. I probably will shed a little tear when I see Corey driving it though.

:)

Fixed the rear sway bar bracket. The welded nut on the inside of the rear cross member broke off. After that I flipped the trailing arms over the right way so I could bolt the E-brake support bracket. Now I'm fixing the rattling middle heat shield. Oh wait... those inner welded nuts broke off too that are internally in the floor of the car. So I used vice grips to pry it back and forth until it created a hole to remove both the bolt and nut. Just going to weld the holes shut and spray some primer and paint over it.

Next will be finding out why the damn stock exhaust is really low from the lip. I'm guessing the poly mounts are pulling on it too hard in the center of the car while the back ones are pushing it down since they are so stiff and not giving it any play. Should be fun taking those bastards off. Good Times!

A 6 wagon? I like the 6s, but unless it was an MS6, i dont think it would feel the void the MSP would leave.

Speaking of 6 wagons, i was about to post this in the 6 forum.

I saw a bone stock 6 wagon, white, with an old lady driving it and rhe wheels were black in the center and center c ap but ir hadMazda emblems on them and the spokes were regular alloy coloring. Looked like 17s and definitely looked like a factory wheel, but not one I've seen before. They werent the twisted spokes and more closely resembles an 8s wheel.

Edit: Found them i think. I didnt realize they were a split spoke, but the center looks identical. http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200701/2007-mazda-6-19_600x0w.jpg

That's the Mazda 6 GT IIRC, they were somewhat limited models with a slightly higher output V6 with a bigger oil pan. I know the latter from working at Mazda, all 3.0s use the same oil just about but on the GT 6s and some 6 wagons they always used an extra quart or so of oil bc they were 'hi-po'.
