What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

burst a coolant line the other day... so drivetrain warranty is covering it on monday.
wasnt even driving it hard, occured RIGHT as i arrived to a local socal meet. rofl

also gonna have em check out the diff, and tranny syncros seem off.

im taking it in this week to have the diff. checked too.. and these cold temps. are making things feel different.. i also am gunna have them check for boost leak bcuz i have no gauge.. just to be safe.

Got an oil change last week, and the dealership tried to sell me front pads and rotors for $505. I asked if the rotors could be turned and the service manager said no, the pads have worn a lip around the perimeter of the rotors. At the time I was thinking for $500 I can upgrade everything (rotors, pads, lines) if I do it myself. When I inspected the car (put my winter setup on) I noticed I still have a decent amount of pad, so...I'm going to try to get everything replaced under warranty, probably at a different dealership. I'll let you know how it goes.

If you do that, you can get all new Stoptech F&R rotors and nicer pads for $500 from any of the vendors. I've priced out upgraded sets for blanks, or even slotted rotors that come out cheaper.

just dropped off the car @ the dealer.
supposedly they'll fix the coolant line, and check out the tranny & diff under warranty.
HMmmmmm.... i miss it already.

Yeah, I've looked around...RR has a decent package deal going on ceramic pads (Hawk) and SS lines. If it doesn't work out with the warranty claim, I'll definitely upgrade. My next $500 was going to go for an AP, but going faster is no fun if you can't stop.

Let me know what you find out if you go with the ceramic pads. I was eyeing those up from RR and going to get the Stoptech slotted R&R rotors and do it all at the same time.

I'll definitely let you know. First stop is the dealer, but I don't know when that is going to happen with work.

Just got a response from the dealer about my car- Had problem with morning starts I'd start car, put car in neutral, let clutch out and the car would surge forward as if it were still in gear. Sometimes even die. So I restart the car. Hold clutch in for 45 seconds or so and slowly let out. Would still grab but then it would keep running. Then...a "whirring" sound would start and stop in about 30 seconds.. The technician called Mazda and talked to an engineer and told them to put a bottle of "friction modifier" in the transmission....I think this will just be a band aid to a larger problem. But it's been a good dealership so far, so ill give em a chance.

Interested on info about these rotors, I'd like to replace mine soon but I might as well just do everything at once...

Which ones, the Stoptechs? RPM, SU, and a few other vendors carry them for a decent price. You're looking at $350 for a slotted set IIRC.

Quite a busy day for the stormtrooper:

1. Took it to the car wash, and it looks nice
2. As it got out of the car wash, it wouldn't start. And the gauge needles were tweaking out like they were on crack. WTF!
3. Got it jumped, went across the street to get gas, wouldn't start back up. Grrr.
4. Took it to the dealer to get the problem checked out thinking it was the battery, but they showed it to be okay:

Maybe it's the ghost in the machine

Stormy, my guages did the same thing to me one day. I got a jump, went to Autozone, got the battery tested, everything came back fine. I went about a week with no problems, then the same thing happened. Got roadside assistance to come jump it again, left it running, made sure it was good and charged, then the next day it was dead again. Long story short, I got an Optima Red Top, and everything is good.

To be honest I'm not sure... I was looking around at options but I haven't done enough research to find out what my best bet would be. I really don't want to replace my rotors with blank ones or stock ones... $350 for a set? front and back?

SU has the Stoptech F&R set for $369, which is pretty good. I was looking at those with the Hawk Ceramic pads all around too, which were another $150 or so from Race Roots.

I changed my parking lights! They're hella blue, and looking quite ricey, but I don't care, cuz my black cherry mica baby won't stay purple for very long...

so wait ur gonna paint the car?? over black cherry, which is one of the best colors besides whitewater pearl.. stupid idea ull regret it.

things on my to do list:

--having my corksport exhaust welded completely, sick of dealing with the flanges leaking no matter what i do to fix them..

--doing some body work on my front lip to make it look better, and flow with the cars lines better

-- installing the 2 rear bumper inserts with the bezels, been waiting weeks for these to show up and they look amazing.

Hmm, I checked out the StopTech drilled (front and rear) rotor set for $369 which actually doesn't seem too bad. I believe when I brought my car into Mazda to look at my rotors they instantly said I needed new ones, and offered me new OEM rear rotors only, for $200-$300 (I can't remember exactly). I know "they" say you don't need drilled and/or slotted rotors if it's a daily driver but I really want to upgrade to better performing breaks, i.e, I don't want OEM stock ones, lol. Also, I don't want to change only the rear rotors, I might aswell get new front ones and new pads... I can see the rust coming.

Checked out that race roots site for the "Hawk Brake Pads Performance Ceramic", $85 for front and $70 for rear. Total I'm looking at around $524... seems like a lot but I'd be replacing a lot... Now I have to look into how well they last and perform.

I love the BCM, but I still want a completely unique one. I'd like to paint it midnight blue...I dunno...

This winter has made a lot of scratches show up on my girl, and I'm really disliking it.
