What did you pay for your CX-5?

On the market for one right now. Neat little (big) machines with plenty of techie stuff to boot. What do you guys think of 31095 OTD w/ T&L

2014 GT AWD w/ tech pkg

Any reason you're not negotiating with the dealer in Tucson? I would think he has to move units as well.

BTW, was in Tucson once and it's really a beautiful place to live. Too bad not close enough to water for me!

Jim Click is the only dealer, and they have no '14s yet. They also add a ton of addendums to the price that you have to then negotiate off (about $1500 worth). I did email the sales person at Jim Click yesterday that I spoke with previously, and told him what I negotiated with the dealer in Phx, and said that I would be willing to wait a couple weeks if they would like to beat their offer.

Since Click is local, may I suggest you visit the dealership and negotiate your deal. They will realize that they have a real customer, not someone just shopping over the phone or through emails looking to play one dealer off the other. You know what you want to pay and if they let you walk out, then they lose the sale.

I've been to the dealership twice already, and they have my contact info, and have been following up with me. I'm not going to waste my time or theirs by going to them and negotiating for a product in person that they don't even have in stock yet. Driving to Phoenix isn't that big of a deal to me - we are up there frequently as my in-laws are in Chandler, so if I get a better deal up there, so be it. The prices I've gotten out of Click have been quite inflated - example would be their quote of $31,095 for a '13 GT FWD w/tech that I got from them in November. So I would like to be in a better starting place before haggling with them for hours in person.

OK, didn't know that you had been in personally, just thought you were doing this remotely.

When I was shopping I contacted 4 dealers. The first one was $600 higher than the next one (my choice) and the other 2 never did give me quotes even after re-contacting them. I think some dealers are just high volume and will blow cars out, others think they are entitled to more money for what ever reason. Also some dealers rely on walk-ins and the big volume ones are pretty much internet driven which is why they are never reluctant to show invoice pricing.

and the other 2 never did give me quotes even after re-contacting them.

The annoying thing is when dealers who are further away refuse to give price quotes over the phone or online and they want you to go into the dealer. One negative thing about Austin is that the 3 Mazda dealers are all owned by the same guy so that changes the market a little bit.

I just got a 2014 FWD Touring with Tech and Moonroof packages for Invoice minus the $500 loyalty credit. MSRP is $28,025 and the invoice is $27,032 and I paid $26,532. No trade in. Didn't take much negotiating to get that so I'm wondering if that's a decent deal. Should have researched here first but it seemed good at the time.

Any doc fees or dealer prep fees?

This just in:
2014 Mazda CX-5 will NOT get a Diesel engine. Instead, it will get the same 184hp 2.5L engine found in the 2014 Mazda 6. The Sport model will still have the 2.0L 155hp engine. Only the automatic transmissioned touring/grand touring versions will be with the new 2.5L engine. Mazda claims 0-60mph time of 7.8 seconds with the 2014 CX-5 2.5L. I think prices will stay the same. Gas mileage is very similar, but the 2.5L will get 1-2mpg worse combined fuel economy over the 2.0L. Towing capacity stays the same at 2000 lbs.

I'm not seeing where it says it won't get the diesel. It says they haven't confirmed the diesel for the US yet.

"Mazda still won't confirm that it's going to offer its even more potent 2.2-liter diesel engine in the U.S.-market CX-5, but we were mightily impressed by the diesel CX-5 prototypes we drove some months back, and that engine is already on sale in European CX-5s. The diesel will be offered in our Mazda 6 later this year."

Now I'm off the sidelines and in the game!

Just gave a deposit via email. The car is currently on the boat.

2014 CX-5 Grand Touring AWD, Tech Pack, White Paint, Black leather, Wheel Locks. Paying Invoice: $30,502. Msrp: $31,954.

I tried the mazdausa.com site's build your mazda's feature. It shows the "base" price + destination fee + extra options and packages = MSRP. Local dealer advertises in its website for a couple of hundred $ more. So I don't know how much is the invoice price. To add to the confusion, the advertised prices for 2014 Touring range from $25.6K to $28K (probably because of variability in color & options). Consumer Reports always says that the invoice price is a few thousands below MSRP. Is this true? Has any forum reader tried the Consumer Report Car Price Service ($14 to see the latest reported transaction price?

Try Edmunds.com

Are the price reported in some post before or after (tax, destination fee, title, etc)? I have an offer of $25300 before tax and local fees for a 2014 FWD Touring. Will decide if I should take the bite this weekend.

I was pretty set on no moonroof, so any other options was out too. figured i will just install the parts of the tech package i wanted my self. Only option that came with my car was the mudguards.
