What did you pay for your CX-5?

did you get any other options on it like the tech package, rear parking sensor, automatic start..

Add in AWD, Tech package, Bose & Moonroof on the Touring, then it's just shy $2k of the Grand Touring so I end up thinking why not get the GT? Then it shoots up to $31,490! MSRP that is.

My dealer tried that on me. All he had on the lot were four GT w/Tech Package. He was being sly, doing the soft sell by showing me the TP features one by one. But what he didn't know was that as he showed them to me, I sat there and thought "Boy that doesn't do much for me." Plus I happen to dislike the 19" wheels (like the ride of 17" better) and I like cloth seats better than leather. The more he showed me, the more he "unsold" me on the GT.

I think if I go with the CX-5, I'm going to have to have them build me one. I am very interested in how pricing goes for that, on a cash sale.

hi. i've been away from mazda for a long time and looking to come back. :)
i've been checking sites like edmunds and truecar to get an idea of what others are paying. the kicker here is that my girlfriend and sister are both interested in purchasing cx-5's together (just the touring FWD model with no extras); which i hope will yield an even better price. i've seen a few people mention getting a few hundred below invoice. does anyone have any advice or comments on what they think i would be looking at or can point me in the direction of a good dealer with flexible pricing? any help is appreciated, thanks guys!

probably best deal I came across yesterday was with Penfed buying service (assume you are financing)
Browning Mazda is listed for $27,130 with 0.49% finance or 0.99 depending on length of finance (for a Touring with tech/ bose)
Else ignoring the above the best you can get is a couple hundred of invoice

It's funny that you mention Penfed. I am currently a Penfed member and I checked this before posting; I was looking at Penfed's truecar value and it's a little lower than what you would see on the actual truecar website. Anyway, the rate is 1% lower I think going with Penfed over Mazda's financing so I guess that may be the way to go. Thanks!

Negotiating via email with a dealer right now. From looking at Truecar, it appears that Invoice and MSRP are only separated by $600 or so for the '14 GT w/Tech. Truecar reports $294XX for invoice, and MSRP is $30,040. So my current offer from a dealer is for a Meteor Grey 2014 GT w/tech for $29,700 + tax, title & license. The way they broke it down as part of their original offer is "$350 off our Invoice price, plus our desert protection package = $29,850 + tax, title, license = $33,600 drive away". The "desert protection package" at their "internet price" of $895 is laughable as it is "paint sealant", tires filled with nitrogen (free at costco), and window tinting. I let them know that I have no interest in the tinting they add, as I want ceramic heat rejection tint added. This is where they knocked off $150 and lowered the price to $29,700. I would agree to this price if they throw in lifetime synthetic oil changes, but on the flip side the dealer is in Phoenix, and I am in Tucson, so that isn't the most convenient. My inlaws are up there, so it isn't terrible, but not the same as being local. $29400 would probably be a fair price, so we aren't that far off.

You should be able to get invoice less a $150 plus some extras like all weather mats. For me the mats were a swap for a couple of oil changes at a dealer that was not convenient to where I live. I called a dealer that is close to me and they charge about $40 for the oil changes which is less then I can do it myself using syn.

Hmm, from looking at the VIN number, it appears that the one they are selling me already has the roof rack and wheel locks installed as well, which does improve their current offer slightly. Now who knows if they are including that, or planning on adding that $300 as a line item when I get there. I suppose I will ask them to clarify.

the dealer is in Phoenix, and I am in Tucson

Any reason you're not negotiating with the dealer in Tucson? I would think he has to move units as well.

BTW, was in Tucson once and it's really a beautiful place to live. Too bad not close enough to water for me!

2014 GT w/ Tech Package White $31,490 Destination Included

Sealed the deal everyone. In my earlier post I had mentioned the S Plan pricing to them. So they gave me invoice pricing + 795 destination charge is $31,490 for a 2014 White GT AWD with Tech Package. They wouldn't budge on any accessories. The biggest hassle was negotiating my trade in which is an 2008 Cooper S and they gave me $10,000 for it. Now they are in the process of locating my vehicle. One the accessories was a roof rack to be included in the price. After the paperwork was signed they asked me if they found one with a roof rack would I take it. I said only if there is no charge on it. Which leads me to think they've already found one.

I asked about financing and what the rates are. They said they will find out once the vehicle is located but they say around 2%. I thought I'd get a better rate, but it's not official yet. I'm a Penfed.org member and they are advertising 1.49%.

Just bought a 2014 GT AWD w/ Tech, stormy blue. Almost bought a 2013 Touring AWD red zeal in January but had to wait until 14's come out to get the bigger engine. You can definitely feel the difference, but I thought it would actually be a bigger difference. Very happy with the purchase thus far (2 days) and have no regrets.

I went with stormy blue since they changed the red color to a more cherry red, which I am not a huge fan of. The new red color hides dirt better, but doesnt mesh as well with the dark moldings lining the bottom of the car. Also stepped up to GT because the lighter cloth would get destroyed by my dog and future kids.

Paid between $29,500-$30,000, is that a good price?

Best of luck with your new ride

Since this is your first post, I'll go easy on you.....that's what you should have asked on this forum before you made your purchase. Just enjoy your new CX-5 and don't worry.

I like the part about paid between $xx,500 and xx,000. No wonder it's difficult to take auto forum pricing stories seriously.

Yes, good deal is right answer.

Enjoy the new ride!

Sorry I will be more specific. I paid $29,700, I told him I really didnt want the tech package (second time around - went thru this with him on the 2013) and was prepared to walk (would have been second time walking as well). I hadn't done my research on the GT, I really had the mindset of going in there and buying a red T AWD without Tech and then saw it and immediately started thinking about other options. I didnt care for the lighter cloth material so leather was the way to go. He knew I was looking at other cars as well and it didnt hurt that one of the salesmen was a good friend of mine.

I was actually looking thru the forum while i was at the dealership to find 2014 GT AWD w/ tech prices, but didnt find much since it is so new. Forced me to really go in blindly. I ask because I am a cheap bastard and always want to be getting a deal :)

horseradish1, sorry for my laughable remarks on pricing.

Nicely loaded CX-5, you will enjoy all the features and be glad you got tech. The extra power of the 2.5L is a nice bonus too.

What color leather did you get?

That would be about right a couple hundred under invoice, pretty much the standard.

If you paid 31,490 then you paid MSRP. Invoice price for GT AWD with Tech package is around $30,200 for 2014 model (that includes destination charge)

If you got 2014 GT AWD with tech package for 29,700 (I assume that it includes destination) that is the lowest price I've seen. Over $500 below invoice)
