Stock Stereo???

I purchased my MP3 used back in march and the previous owner decided to keep the 10s that were in my trunk, and after extensive rewireing I finally got my a/c and heat to work. But to make a long story short I was wondering what I needed to put it back the way it was,Oh and also im not sure if the cd/mp3 player is the right one either so if anyone has the model number out there it would be greatly appreciated! Thanx(k)

Hey there, a little confused of what you are asking. Put what back to the way it was? Also, I don't know that exact model number, but if it is Kenwood and has the MASK face plate, then most likely it is the one that came with the car. Are you talking about putting the same 10" sub so it is the way it was? Also, just curious, why did you have to rewire the ac and heat in order for it to work. Just doesn't sound right.

The MP3 came with either the Kenwood Z919 or Z828 radios.
If the sub in the back has been removed then it really isn't worth replacing. Retail on it is around $300, but if you must the model number is the KSC-WA100.
HOWEVER!
If you buy it used be sure to get the wire harness clip for it as that is a $50 piece by itself.
The car also had basic Kenwood coaxle speakers in the front and back.

What happend to the AC?

Thanx for the help guys, ill have to go out & check my stereo. As for the ac, when i took it to the dealer to have it fixed my control nobs wouldnt turn. The guy who fixed it said that more than likely who ever had it before me had big speakers or something and when they took the stereo out to get to all the wireing, he or she didnt put it back together right. But he didnt charge me to fix it, and it works fine now!:p

welcome to the boards......................

imo, i think if you're going to replace the subwoofer, get a different one. if its $300 like 1st said, plus $50 for the harness - its not worth it. you could get a much higher quality sub for that price...................just my .02................:)

to shed some light on the heater AC controls. When removing the front dash peice the cables, not wires, to the AC system have to be removed and if not lined back up properly, which is actualy easy to do, then things get out of whack.

The sub with the harness is about $300 and the Harness is $5 on it own.

The factory equipt MP3 sub was a 10" kenwood in a plastic ported box with a built in 50 watt amplifier. It just needed the formentioned harness to get power, ground, remote wires.

i did the same thing to get the center radio console out more and the selanoids or wires that attach to the rotary controls got tucked under some things and I had to figure out how to put them back. Otherwise, the knobs wouldn't turn all the way or were too hard to turn. I almost panicked thinking oh s*** I ruined my AC control, how much money is that going to run me?!?! I figured out how to reconnect them after playing around with it for a half an hour. I am glad the dealer didn't charge you.
