Piggyback installed

Yup. So I basically have the MPI piggyback unit installed. Although, it's not the latest hardware revision, but it's what the MPI piggy is based off of.

I had the guy who did my exhaust install my two extra injectors before the throttle body.

I spent the weekend installing the piggy and removing my FMU. I'm running my stock MAF, BUT, i added in a MAP sensor so that I can see when boost comes on, so I'm not firing the extra injectors until then.

Right now, I'm @ 6psi.

I'm still tuning it, but I must say, this thing is pretty nice. So far, I'm not controlling ignition with it, and I'm not even touching my stock injectors (I don't care to), I'm just controlling the extra injectors with it right now.

Using the MAP sensor, it was decently tuned within 15 minutes of driving. I know MPNick isn't a huge fan of the MAP, but it works for me so far.

Anyway, so far it's doing its job. I still have to play with it to get the maps better, but there's nothing really wrong with them right now. I figure I'll tune them to a 12:1 AFR.

If your boosted and running an FMU...i'd reccomend picking up this piggy and an injector or two. It will probably cost you around $1K. Well worth it.

Good luck with the Piggyback. I would be extreemly careful with that. I have heard tooooooo much problems with Piggybaks in general bro.

Right now it's just kinda chillin on my passenger floor. I may throw it in the glove box. We'll see over the weekend.

how difficult is it to use thost things? after all this warranty stuff wears off i plan on building up the bottom end and upping the boost, but i am kind of retarded when it comes to tuning. does it come with instructions or guidelines to follow?

With a wideband o2 tunning isnt to tough. Not that i claim to be a tunner of anykind, but simply plugging in # and test drive untill you hit your desired afr. Timing is another story, i dont mess with those settings, once i get a knock sensor w/ LED i might be able to play around with it some more.

I just went out and adjusted some of my # on the piggyback today, it is quite simple.

Kooldino, What does your display look like with the MAP sensor in use. As of now mine just has deflection on the bottom and rpm on the right side of the screen. Where does it show what the MAP is seeing?

As for where to put it. . .isn't it like a very small box. . .nothing to "tune" on the box, so who cares where you put it! Throw it under the kick plate with your ecu!

that is where mine is, i have the hookup cable routed into my glovebox.

Well, by the time you do that, they'll be a million maps from people who beat you to it that you can download and run on your car. Then if you want it tweaked, pay a tuner to tune it on a dyno for you.

if i were a full enthusist like this to tune my own sheit and splice and stuff...saving 1k would be worth it...but id much rather spend 2k on the microtech, already get bigger injectors, not splice, and have premade maps and customer service. hopefully that thing works out good for you man! im not hating on it, its just that much work is not my bag...

True. That's what I'm doing. But I'd be better off if I had a passenger helping me tune while I drove.

Not splice? How are you gonna get your tach/etc to work then? You gonna do without it?

Isn't that where you adjust the percentage of the values in the map at that giving load. Nevermind, you did say you have the stock meter on didn't ya. Sorry, good stuff, have fun and keep us posted on how she works for ya.
