I suggest you try calling him at the shop (as he just stated in his other thread, "MPI Tuner Anyone?") just like you would call Wagner or Perfworks or Flyin' Protege. I think you will get better results that way. He is not very PC Savy, and it probably takes him a while to type up just one post. I've talked to him over the phone, and the fountain just flows about any question you have. You will also have to remember that he may not be available by the phone at all times, as he has a business to run.

BTW, I have the "grey box" (the ACTUAL MPI tuner) which controls ignition now.

You've got the "new" model now? Why / how did that upgrade take place?

I believe you have answered it the best way you can on here in the thread regarding the MPI Tuner.

I am concerned with closed-loop on-boost operation with your tuner, particularly when the switch is made to on-boost open-loop operation. Smooth transition, and concerns of overly rich opreation for the first split second of the switch because of fueling needs and the ECU's control over fuel in both closed loop and open loop operation.

You are losing sleep over nothing. We control when the switch is made and how much fuel is added. As boost builds more and more we add more and more fuel.

1#We add fuel as the boost is building. So we have a happy balance here, more air and more fuel.
2#we control when and how hard the fuel hits. We sample what is going on upto 12 times per second. If you can feel a problem faster then 12 times per second you are very good.
3#wideband or not if we are overly rich you would have a bog,mis, stumble, or call it what ever you want.
4# tune the MPI Tuner right you will have no problems, you will sleep very sound.
