NEMOC Random BS Thread

James and I saw Marc and Cheo yesterday! Beep beep Cheo!

In the Hartford area? ...I saw what looked like Cheo's car driving down I-91..even had mass plates on it. I was getting off the exit and couldnt see who was driving. I told myself there was no way...

I saw Four Loko in Granby!!!

Nah it was where he works. Went up to pick up some tires from Marc for this coming weekend, drove by the AZ and Cheo was getting into his car! Pretty good timing..

I found a place that still has Four Loko on their shelves...didn't they pass a ban on the stuff last year?

Time to make some Chili Four Loko!

Went and saw Fast Five last night. It was actually pretty good. The plot was pretty predictable but the action sequences were intense...ie they looked real. I believe most of the mayhem was actually real, unlike most movies that come out these days.

I had an interesting drive this afternoon.. Semi-truck had a tire blow out right next to me, sending large chunks of rubber flying over and into the rental car I had. Luckily no damage or anything, but I had to pull over to collect myself. That scared the s*** out of me and the one time I was glad not to be in the Miata. The truck driver pulled over near me and hopped out to ask me if everything was ok.

they changed the four loko formula to conform with state and FDA standards. It's on most shelves again but its not the same stuff, tastes just as bad though.

Running headlong into finals, if you have any questions about income tax law ask it now before I forget it in the alcohol induced haze that follows my exams. (I can also field property and constitutional law questions but the exams aren't until next week so I'm not as prepared yet.)

g'damn! guess I gotta stay away from being next to trucks in the Miata!

Wanna bet? I know of two places where I can buy the original stuff. I hate to put it this way, but the people who own and operate these places do not speak English too well. I'm guessing that is the reason why I can find the original stuff. :)

Well, I think it had something to do with the heat here in the south. I saw a crap ton of blown semi truck rubber on the highway during my trip today.

Stupid forum deleted everything I typed when I hit submit.

I'll try and make it short this time:

My company was contracted by the general contractor building the power plant to do 24/7 air quality monitoring. In Feb 2010 they were introducing natural gas into the pipeline for the first time (with no air monitoring whatsoever) and there was an undetected leak that filled the entire area with natural gas. Someone or something made a spark and ~6 people were killed in the explosion. Millions of dollars in safety fines and a year later they rebuilt the place back up to the same point and called my company to come in and make sure that any undetected leaks don't stay undetected for long.

Thanks to the wonders of 21st century technology our dozens of "gas sniffers" are sending their readings back to my laptop via radio signal...so I just sit here and surf the internet for most of the night :D

Cool job man, seen few ppl do the same at my previous work.

Must have been scary Chris. Hard to avoid semi's on any highway. Noticed more tire debris going down to Georgia than I normally see in NE and Canada. Must be the heat.

Happy Hump day.

Places were allowed to sell their remaining stock, so some places do still have the original, especially if they were smart and held their stock back while everyone else on the market tried to dump it. Most of the places you see that have it right now have the FDA-friendly version. I do know a few places that still have their old stock (as well as an entrepreneurial friend who bought 3 cases and is waiting to sell them at a steep markup once the rest of the places run out of stock).

Wow.... dead thread day... What happened to everyone? I saw the Bruce "Hump Day" post, but come on people.....

Edit.... I am whoring this pic out, but I took it this afternoon because I saw it and had to take a shot of it. I pulled the car over and walked out with my camera in the middle of the road to take it...

Cool shot Chris, would be cool to know when that sign was built.

I'm still up and dreading laying down after my ESI shot today. Dr. told me there would be a pop and there was along with my left arm spasming so violently that it completely raised off the table and every muscle in the backconstricting simultaneously. Next thing I know the dr. and nurse are talking and then he says, Jeff, it seems you were a bit too tight there so I'm going to have to go lower, which he does with no issues. From the walk from the table to the recovery chair, my head went from a dull ache in the back to feeling like it was going to explode. They called Tam back and we asked to see the dr., well one nurse rolled her eyes and the dr. came in wearing a polo, shorts and his satchel around his neck (apparently he was out the door and on his way home). Nice to know he was going to wait around to know his last patient was ok and well enough to leave. He brushed it off, gave me a prescription for caffiene pills, told me to drink a soda when I got home and I'd be fine. Tried laying down when I got home and the pain intensified so much that I had to stand for several minutes before it started to subside...even looking down at the floor caused pain. After some research and a call to the RN in the family it appears I could have a dural puncture....yay me.

So, how was everybody else's day?
