Needs to be lowered.

Jeff, when did you get a truck and why?

Well that was a fun game...still can't really hear right...

I think Ryan and I are good luck...we went to game 7 and tonight's game. I also bought a Lucic jersey, and he scored twice tonight :)

Up at 5:30 for the bike race.

Morning all. Supposed to a great weekend weather wise. Did some biking along the Ottawa river and will do some more today.

Good evening/morning everyone!

The power plant I've been working at for the last 5 months finally turned on one of their natural gas generators and began producing power with it today which is exciting because it gets me one step closer to being done on this job site! :)

Talk about loud! This facility has 2 natural gas turbine generators. I'm not allowed to take pictures inside the building, for obvious reasons, but to give you some perspective: on both units the cold-air intake screen/filter is approx. 40'x40' and the intake "pipe" (it's really a giant duct) is about 7 stories tall leading down into each turbine.

My company has been asked to do some noise monitoring while they get both units up and running and with just one unit running tonight the noise level inside the building was about 120 decibels...slightly quieter than a jet engine @ 100ft and slightly louder than a jack hammer 2 feet from your ear. I can't wait to see how loud it will be with both units running!

Morning all. Been biking along the Ottawa river. Very nice when the wind isn't blowing. Ottawa seems to be a bike friendly city. Did 5 miles friday and another 10 yesterday. Back out again today.

Hi from sunny and warm scottsdale! Ya'll take good care of your mom's today! Looking forward to LRP!

What is you do there ?

What is you do there ?

Stupid forum deleted everything I typed when I hit submit.

I'll try and make it short this time:

My company was contracted by the general contractor building the power plant to do 24/7 air quality monitoring. In Feb 2010 they were introducing natural gas into the pipeline for the first time (with no air monitoring whatsoever) and there was an undetected leak that filled the entire area with natural gas. Someone or something made a spark and ~6 people were killed in the explosion. Millions of dollars in safety fines and a year later they rebuilt the place back up to the same point and called my company to come in and make sure that any undetected leaks don't stay undetected for long.

Thanks to the wonders of 21st century technology our dozens of "gas sniffers" are sending their readings back to my laptop via radio signal...so I just sit here and surf the internet for most of the night :D

Yeah man... those damn things are crazy loud. That's why I like our coal plants for generation. The turbine deck isn't deafening. Still loud, but only around 95 dB

Awesome pics Tony. I remember my communion... Was I really that young then? Haha.
