MSP # 962 is dead

Well the guy who helped me out of the car said it was some old people. He tried describing the car to the police but they said they can't do anything without a licence plate #. But anyway I don't wish them any harm anyway - who knows if they were even conscious of what happened. The impact from their car wasn't bad at all, it's just that the corner was a double S and by the time I corrected the car the first time, the direction of the road had changed again, and I over corrected for the second corner, spunt out and hit the median.
Anyway here's another weird twist to this story. I'm a Seventh-Day Adventist (Adventists basically follow both Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Jews follow only the Old Testament and other Protestants basically follow all of the New and Some of the Old). So anyway we go to church on Saturdays, but when I got my job back in November 2003, I had to work Saturdays and all of 2004 I didn't go to church. Added to that, I used to pray every night before I go to bed and I hadn't been doing that anymore (some nights I still would though). Well the night before the accident I prayed for about 30mins, and the focal point was that I wanted God to help me find a way to get back in to church. Well after the accident I took a leave of absense to fully recover, had the opportunity to go to church again, so I just turned in my resignation. Then the deal with the house that I was trying to buy in ATL was pretty much dead because my broker wasn't doing a good job, the sellers were mad, and they wanted to keep my $2000 Earnest Money. SO I dumped that broker, hired a new one Thursday, went to church Saturday, and in 3 days this new broker has everything back on track, accomplishing more in 3 days than the other did in 3 months, and now the sellers are willing to continue the deal after everything got really nasty. So a new car, a new house, and I'd say God's been pretty good to me.

Hope I didn't sound like I was giving a sermon :) (there I go apologizing again). O well.
Holy crap! No pun intended :) My daughter goes to an Adventist high school in Keene Texas. There is an Adventist University there, SouthWest Adventist University.
I may finish my IT degree there. I allready have a good IT job but they will pay for me to go back and the Adventist school is very close to home.
I know Adventist teachings fairly well I worked in Keene at night for three yrs and Keene was founded as an Adventist town.

welcome to the club bro :)
feels good to walk out of something like that, doesnt it.....?
fells like u're walking on clouds.....every step u take is full of energy......you just feel the joy of living inside of you.

i wake up with a smile every day now....

Black Majik MSP, BlkZoomZoom, Grip & Driftt, BMC, zzooommm, and everyone else, I really really want to let you all know that I appreciate your kind words. Man I could have been dead that night. When I called my wife after coming out of the car, she apparently thought it was a fender bender and when she arrived at the scene she stopped her car in the middle of the road and ran out crying - thinking I was dead - before remembering that I was the one who called. Funny enough when she came to me by the ambulance I asked her how she knew about it..stange huh?
Anyway BlackMagic, I live in FL yes, I saw Vladimir (the president of the S. FL Mazda club) one day and he mentioned you. I've never even been able to come to one of the meets and I guess I missed the last one on Friday.
BlkZoomZoom, tell you car she's getting a new baby sister :)
momstoy, tell your wife I agree with her 100%. I simply would not be alive if Jesus didn't intervene somehow....that's not an accident that someone escapes from normally. The entire interior of the car is crumbled. There is no rear seat space nor any front passenger seat space left...the entire thing imploded and the only place remaining was the exact position that I was in. I couldn't even move my feet (at one time I wasn't sure if I was paralyzed or not) because everything had crumpled in right up to the countours of my body. Man that was one crazy night.
yashooa, funny how there are so many things common between our lives huh? I wish your daughter the best and I wish the best for you too. School is fun so you'll enjoy it :)
Hey guys, one thing I didn't know that I found out now is that you get billed when an ambulance has to take you to the hospital! They charged me $500 base rate and then they charged extra per mile. Can you believe that. O well. At least I didn't have to stay overnight.

whoa. that looks like it could be fatal...damn. glad you're okay, you must really love the car to have one shipped to ATL.

Couldn't have said it better!!

Wow looking at the third picture that you posted it really is a miracle that you are alive. You should also thank God that your wife was not in the car with you. Looks like someone was trying to get your attention (angel)

lol...I was just talking to my little sister who is back in Jamaica today, telling her that I got a new one etc., and she had the same reaction - saying I must love it to have it shipped :)
Truth is, for the $16-$20K range I wouldn't want a different car.

That's the part I hate to think about - ie. if my wife was in the car. She had actually dropped me at work that night and picked me up for lunch but we decided I would just drive back instead of she dropping me off. Normally what happens is, I'd drive to work with her in the car, then she would leave me there and do any run-arounds she needs to get done. Luckily she nor anyone else wasn't with me man, otherwise the rest of my life would have been a nightmare. Don't think I could even go to med school. I just wouldn't want to do anything.
I'm just so happy that I'm ok and that nobody else was there. When I went to the body shop which is where the pics were taken, one lady came to me and asked me whose car it was and I told her mine. Of course she couldn't believe, but she said her husband works there and she took her 18 year old son to see the car because he likes imports and racing and wanted to show him what can potentially happen. Which I don't necessarily agree with 100%, but she has a point with the racing I suppose. O well.

.. I can't even believe that. I just, I don't even know what to say. How anyone could've survived that -- without serious injuries, to boot! -- it just beyond my comprehension. The car was almost cut in half. Holy s***.

It's definitely a miracle that you're alive.

im speechless ....

my best friend got in an accident like that. I was in europe when it happened and havent seen the pictures of his car (i dont really wana see them either). From what people have told me, it looked just as bad. He got out of it with some bruises, i think a broken rib and he cut/hurt his knee (it hit the streering wheel / key chain). Apparently, looking at the car, there is no way to explain how he made it out alive.

I don't really believe in anything, what you call help of god i may call luck, but that doesn't change anything, i will still thank god for you.

Even though that was pretty bad, looks like your life is getting better than ever now. so young and both soon in med school, married, new car and new house ... best of luck man. everything looks great =)

Rush, I sat here for about 2 mins thinking about what you said and man I really have to wonder. For a few weeks everyone who saw the car that I had to deal with (tow company ppl, insurance company ppl etc.) referred to me as "the guy who's lucky to be alive". And you know I'd smile and laugh but the truth is I am lucky. I know I'm young and I hope one day something happens that I can say, yes, this is why I didn't die that day you know. I mean I walked home that night from the hospital. The weekend after I went to church for the first time all year and the pastor started talking about ppl who live from the most horrendous accidents vs. others who are involved in what would seem like a fender bender yet they die. I mean life often time doesn't seem fair you know, but man after that I don't know why I should compain about too many things again.
You know if the light pole had fallen on top of my windshield and come inside the car then I guess I'd be gone.
The guy who helped me from that accident called me the next day and said after my accident he went racing with some of his friends and they met in an accident on the highway and he decided that was enough for the night. Now if I had been the one to help somebody from that accident man I wouldn't be racing for a week let alone that same night :)
Dr. Sound, isn't it an easy win for the MSP? I mean I wouldn't take the SVT, the Spec V, the Si, nor the SRT over the MSP. The MSP is just a more complete car than all of them IMO.

Yeah isn't that weird. I mean one moment you almost lose your life and the next moment everything is looking fabulous. Can't complain at all.

Hey do me one favor, pray about something that's really meaningful to you but it seems like it wont happen and just see what happens. Just curious. Thanks.

what the fu#k. over !
That is one hell of an impact on the pass. side.My buddy had an accident at 95 MPH and had the impact on the drivers side, and he walked away. Sometimes you do have to just thank your (whatever it is you perfer to thank, insert here)

yeah, dude for real...God had his hand on ya right thurr ;)

super glad your ok :D

just a word of advice about the tires...Send the insurance company the receipt for them and they should give you a check for the cost...When my car was totalled last year i had just put new tires on and they gave me an extra $350 in the check for the value of the car ;)

I actually tried to do that. Last year my Eclipse GST got stolen and I got a few extra bucks because I had just installed Stillen rotors, pads, steel braided lines and motul brake fluid. I asked my adjuster about the new tires and he said it wouldn't make a difference. I don't agree. Thanks for the tip though.

You should definitely thank God (or whatever you do or dont believe in) that you are alive! That looks nasty. Glad it all worked out for you, and glad you are safe!
