Hello everyone,
Just thought I would let everyone know that My MSP, # 962, is gone. I had left work and was returning from home (I was on my my lunch break) at about 9:30pm on the night of May 12th, and just as I was approaching the turn in to my job, I got ran off the road going through a double S corner, the car spun a few times, hit the median, and the light pole fell on my car with wires running 400,000 volts strung all over the car. A guy two lanes over stopped to help me, but the hitters didn't even bother to stop. The car is totalled and I suffered minor bruises to my left arm, and some pain in my neck, back and hip. I'm fully recovered now except the pain in my neck comes and goes - and I had lost my memory for about 2 hours and eventually regained it while I was in the ER.
My Titanium MSP had 23,000 miles on it (bought 08/2003) and the insurance company estimated the repairs for $22,000+, and appraised the car at $18,730.53. So since the repairs were more than the worth they totalled the car. I owed the bank about $15700, and I had a $1000 deductible, so I got a check for $1942.50 after they paid off for the car. Determined to get another MSP, I called Mazda USA's headquarters and told them I wanted another one so I wanted to know of all the dealers that still have a new MSP. None were left in FL, and according to them only 10 new ones were left in the country. 1 Black Mica in Wilson, NC; 2 Silvers at Sunflower Mazda in Kansas; 2 Silvers & 1 Yellow at Luther Mazda in MN; 1 Titanium at Pugi mazda Illinois, 2 Yellows at Anaheim Mazda, CA; and 1 Orange at Sterling Mazda in MI. Turns out the Black Mica had $1800 miles going for $15900, the Kansas dealer wanted nothing but the MSRP for their 2 silvers (because according to them they had the last 2 MSPs in the country...so I hung up), and the titanium was sold a few hours before I called. Didn't really want Orange so I went for the Yellow in Cali. So my Yellow MSP (purchased for $17,995) # 962 will be shipped from Anaheim Mazda to Atlanta (My wife and I are moving to Atlanta next week to begin our first year at Emory University School of Medicine) tomorrow!!! Man I can't wait to get back in that car. Good thing I had zero mods to my titanium and I withdrew from the Ion GB cause that would have just been money down the drain. My wife and I are trying to buy a house in ATL too and we just got a call that the house deal looks like it will close so after going through hell, it looks like all will be well. Luckily we're still only 20 years old so I'm hoping to make some decent money before I get too old so that I can one day have the fastest MSP around
