Mazda 3 2.3L same engine as Ford Focus 2.3L???

Is the engine in the Mazda 3 the same engine that is in the Ford Focus? Just wondering because if so then is it possible to use parts for the Ford Focus on the Mazda 3?

Yes it's the same block but it's a Mazda built motor.

From what I have read on the two engines they where both engineer by Mazda. They have their differences and the also have their similarities.

Only part I'd consider from the Focus would be a header. It will bolt on you will just need a custom flex-pipe made to connect to the exhaust.

The 2.3 foci has superchargers out for it, but mounting them to ours yields a clearance issue with the hood and all. Only thing that sucks about supercharger is it would cost too much to not be worth the gains it shows. But I would love to hear it whine(laugh)

No the 2.3L does not have a supercharger out! You are think of the old 2.0L Zetec. They are waiting for the ECU flashers just like us since there is no way to tune without going standalone.

I coming from owning a Ford really did not expect to see as many parts on the Mazda3 to be labled FoMoCo. But it is all good to me.

Maybe it was the 2.0 or someone with the 2.3 foci fabricated the 2.0 one to fit(scratch)

What? Mitsu? do you mean Mazda and I have yet to see anything but emblems to say Mazda....LOL

Many of the vacuum devices have mitsu emblems on them. I believe your intake manifold has ford stamped on the underside...not entirely sure on that as I don't have one to take off.

There are very few car's you can buy these days without parts from at least 3-6 manufacturers in the car. And usually those car's cost well over 200k .

I Heard Mazda's Have Some Parts That Are Made By Ford Other Than That I'm Not Sure About Mitsubishi But It Was Posted On Mazda.com That Mazda And Mitsubishi Teams Up For A Thing Called "the Green Book" I Think Its Kinda Like On-star That Gm Has.

Ford Makes Alot Of Parts And Owns Companys That Make Parts For Other Automakers. Like Chevy Trucks Have Engines That Are Built By A Company That Ford Owns.

yep the symbols I found so far were few thoings on the firewall and the vad flapper for the Mz6 croud. AzMz3 when I said mixed matched awhile back...thats what I was refering to on another level! Mitsu is sleeping with everyone I guess since DCX pulled a B!%$# move when they were goung under financial unstbility. Guess that ends the neon crossing over to lancer body frame.
