I am getting ready to purchase an HID KIT from XenonDepot and I was wondering if anybody had any problem with installation or things i should be aware about concerning the installation process. I know that HID retrofit kits were deemed illegal. I just wanted to know if anybody had any problems with bulb fitment

Absolutely no fitment problems from that site. It's direct plug n play.

Use the red rubber gaskets that you can buy for your garden hose. They're about the size of a quarter and they look like a red washer made out of rubber.
You can get 'em at sears, home depot, etc, and they do the job perfectly. ;)

Funny you should say that Natey, that's exactly what I used. I just cut a slit so they'd fit around the base properly, and slid 2 of them on for the metal retainer to push against. Tight as can be.

See a pic, here:

another alternative for the non-skiddish peeps like myself and a few others is to take the bulb adapter off the H7 halogen (goes from a h7 to h4 style) and just drill the center out of it, the bulb will fit in it nice and tight and the clip will hold it in just like the halogen bulb. I wish i had pics, but the ones i had i deleted. Sorry

Thats exactly what I did on my car. I used the stock bulb housing, then epoxied the HID socket into it. I had to retro fit an HID setup that had come out of a 2000 BMW 3 series. The extra effort is well worth it, i think. Takes a little more time. But well worth the effort.

What HID kit are you using? I'd love to see some pics if you could snap a few man, even if they're from an odd angle. I might want to buy an extra couple of the stock adapters and give it a try. Not that the washers are bad, just looking for ideas.

A kit that i bought from hid-online.com, they ship their kits from germany/england. It uses genuine philips lamps and ballasts made/stamped in aachen, germany. It uses the philips ultinon lamps that have been rebased (6k-purplish/white). In a true philips lamp the salts will be a blood stained dark reddish color, itll look like it has a tiny drop of blood in the capsule, its kinda neat and i didnt even know about it till i started doing alot of research on all the different types of HID capsules/lamps there are.
but anyway heres a link to where i bought mine from and i can try and get some pics tomorrow.
