Need help finding the bulbs for my P5 headlights. Couldn't find anything that fit locally and I remember last time I was at the mechanic they said I need some adapter. Can anyone tell me what bulb does fit and where to find it or where to get the adapter.

Thanx.

the headlight is an H7 bulb....the adapter should be attached to the back of the bulb that is currently in the headlight (as long as you are only talking about the low beams)

That little adapter had me confused at first too! If you dont know it is there, you think you have teh wrong bulb!!! (crazy)

Ah ok...so that adapter lets me use the H7 bulbs since they have smaller prongs than the stock ones?

exactly. pull the adapter off the old bulb and stick it onto the new one and viola

When I replaced my bulbs I used a 9003 which has the 3 prongs on it. I thought that was what I removed when I replaced them originally. The 9003 bulb fits the prongs correctly, but I've noticed that my headlights are really dim. I thought it was my battery but I just replaced it and the lights are still dim. Is this because I'm using the wrong bulb? If so, where can I get the adaptor to use the H7 bulbs?

The H4 (also designated 9003) and H7 have different filament locations relative to the mounting base, so your headlight reflectors are not directing the beam correctly. That's probably why they appear dim.

I don't know about adapters, but if you need new sockets, you can get them here.
