CX-9 Headlight "Ballast Assembly" options?

We have a 2009 CX-9 with a dead front left headlight. I am told it needs a "Ballast Assembly" that would be $1,100 parts and labor to replace.

Advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Get one from a junkyard or eBay and swap it out.

Based on a few google search it looks like there are a lot of options for less 200$ for the part. I am guessing the bulk of the cost is labor, i couldn’t confirm 100% but you might need to remove the bumper to get to them (that would be a ridiculous design if that is the case, but it happens)

Yes the front bumper needs to come off. There is a video on yt where the person does it in 30 minutes. See if the video is still there.
