Hi, I was debating with my friend about hardpipes today and we never really came to a conclusion so I wanted to see what you guys thought. I live in illinois so it never really gets hot enough that I have to worry about a FMIC or anything but I wanted to get some hardpipes (maybe a SMIC) later on but when we were talking about the pipe issue what benefits do hardpipes really ahve? I know they fix the problems that the stock pipes have of leaking but wouldn't metal get hotter and get hotter faster than plastic pipes or is there some secret I'm missing.

when the plastic gets hot it tends to stretch under boost. Ya metal probably gets hotter but just get them powdercoated that should help.

ya the plastic pipes suck especially after driving for a while I use to get mad lag when I mashed on it

plastic holds the heat inside while the aluminum pipes dissapate it, resulting in all around cooler air. Your boost curve will be much smoother.

hard pipe benefits-----cooler denser air----they don't expand when in side presure rises---they don't expand with heat----they aren't prone to breaking like the factory pipes----BOV can be welded to it insted of hose.---more accurate presure release when throttle is lifted.------and they look so damn good.
