Focus ST

So, I know this isn't Mazda related and I apologize, but I kind of like this car. I might go try one out Monday, so I need you guys to convince me to not trade the 2. (hand)

Nothing wrong with upping the performance, but do yourself a favor and test drive a speed3 before buying the ST. I've heard from multiple sources that the speed3 is more fun. On a side note...why not wait for the fiesta st?

I love the 2, but I'm not going to talk you out of a damn thing! That Focus ST would be a ball! If I had the extra coin, I'd be looking at one - but like eyeballs said, try the speed3 too. If it were me, I would wait to drive a FiST (Fiesta) before actually purchasing any of the three. I suspect it's a pretty tossable monster.

I will definitely drive a MS3 before pulling the trigger on anything, I just don't like the looks of the newer Mazda 3's whatsoever (no offense to anyone) and I like the looks and options of the Focus, plus I like the fact that it is supposed to be more refined. I like idea of a Fiesta ST because honestly the Focus is a little big and heavy, but for some reason I'm just drawn to the Focus. Truthfully, I'll probably just stick to the 2 because I'm in love with it, and it would be MUCH cheaper.

Thanks! It stays filthy all of the time though. I have to basically go off roading to get to work (drive2)

I test drove the ST the first week my dealer had one. Its nice, I like it alot. Still rather have a Speed3 though.

speed3 i have been told is more fun (better looking imo) also the focus has no LSD which the speed has does.

I currently own a speed and test drove a new ST a couple weeks ago. Yes my Speed has a little more power, but the design and options in the ST are very nice. It is definitely a strong option next spring if I decide to trade mine in. Also im a sucker for the in car gadgets and stuff such as the touch screen and Ford-Sync. And dont listen to above, Ford and Mazda have shared parts for years. We've owned numerous Fords and Mazdas without issues. The current recall in 2013 Focus' is an Equipment recall which is a Yakima Product

Last month's Top Gear UK Magazine had a hot hatch shoot out and the Focus ST got #1. Hard to believe with all the incredible hot hatches in the UK. So it's nothing to sneeze at.

After owning an LV Focus XR5, the ST leaves a lot to be desired. Try your luck with a used 5pot rather than the ST, for a very good price you can pick one up with low Mileage.

No 5 cylinder Focus in America (US never gets cool cars) (bs)

I stopped and asked how low they could go on the ST today. The sticker is $27k and the lowest they would go was $30k. I laughed (a lot) and left without even sitting in it. I really like the car but I'll probably be keeping the 2 for quite a few more years. Just can't justify tripling my debt, losing MPG, and raising insurance drastically for a car that is very similar to my 2...just with more power and features. Plus, i'm just too in love with the Jellybean

Oh, I thought the chassis and drivetrain were the same.
