the attachment is what i planned on doing for my exhaust (electric exhaust cutout, stock after), but i have a few issues that i can foresee as possible problems. just wondering if anyone who has a cutout can shed some light on these
1) heat from turbo. i'm willing to accept the motor burning out earlier than it should, so this shouldn't be a big issue
2) flames shooting out (no, not kidding). if/when flames shoot out of there, they will be right on the cat/o2 sensor, which i don't imagine is good for them. hopefully the quickness of the flames should keep it as not a problem
3) clearance issues - i haven't measured yet, but just from looking hopefully it will fit there without sticking too far below the car (i don't want anyone to be able to look under there and see this thing)
4) disrupting exhaust flow for normal driving. i know with the cutout closed exhaust gas passing by will be disrupted by the extra piece of pipe leading to the cutout. will this disruption be enough to seriously hinder performance, or only a minor thing? i want to keep the cutout basically straight down along the path of the exhaust so when open almost all exhaust gas goes out of the cutout. the counterside is that when closed, almost all exhaust gas will want to go out the cutout, but can't, so will flow against the rest of the exhaust. will this be a big issue or no?
i'll probably be able to afford this around august hopefully as long as i can line up a job for during the year. anyone with input?
