Exhaust cutout issues?

:
GLA45
the attachment is what i planned on doing for my exhaust (electric exhaust cutout, stock after), but i have a few issues that i can foresee as possible problems. just wondering if anyone who has a cutout can shed some light on these
1) heat from turbo. i'm willing to accept the motor burning out earlier than it should, so this shouldn't be a big issue
2) flames shooting out (no, not kidding). if/when flames shoot out of there, they will be right on the cat/o2 sensor, which i don't imagine is good for them. hopefully the quickness of the flames should keep it as not a problem
3) clearance issues - i haven't measured yet, but just from looking hopefully it will fit there without sticking too far below the car (i don't want anyone to be able to look under there and see this thing)
4) disrupting exhaust flow for normal driving. i know with the cutout closed exhaust gas passing by will be disrupted by the extra piece of pipe leading to the cutout. will this disruption be enough to seriously hinder performance, or only a minor thing? i want to keep the cutout basically straight down along the path of the exhaust so when open almost all exhaust gas goes out of the cutout. the counterside is that when closed, almost all exhaust gas will want to go out the cutout, but can't, so will flow against the rest of the exhaust. will this be a big issue or no?
i'll probably be able to afford this around august hopefully as long as i can line up a job for during the year. anyone with input?

i did this but it wasn't a cut out i took the cats off. the b**** is loud a hell i mean i was next to a big dump truck and i sounded the same. it's to loud
and plus you loose a lot of torgue. i thought the car was slower and with
the sound right under the engine cops will know that somethings up

well that's kinda the point of having an electric cutout, so you can keep it closed/partly closed most of the time so it isn't unbearably loud, and you can still pass emissions. if a cop pulls me over, i can close it, which is why i want to keep it as high as possible so just looking under they won't be able to see anything out of the ordinary. you lose no torque from running open downpipe, your turbo produces more than enough backpressure for your engine

thats true man but do you want the cut out before the downpipe or after if you run it after it wont loose any

r u runnin anything else like more boost, hard pipes with bov? if so then
this will work but im telling you i felt a lot of lag, i was slower big time.
just dont want u to waste your money.

i'm stock, exhaust should be everyone's first mod. creating a greater pressure difference should decrease spool time. did you have a cel when you took out your cats?

I don't understand why you felt lag, less backpressure helps the turbo spool faster, creating less lag.

Deans MSP is running a cut out before the back cat
so does he still have 2 cats? how is his cutout run? i know he's much more lean than i am so his flames are less of a problem, and running it in between the cats would solve the flow disruption issue, i just wanted it to be before the cat so i'm curious what dean's setup is

It might create little back pressure, but nothing worth worrying about when its closed.

If its placed where your drawing indicates, its going to be dumping right onto plastic underbody crap. Pretty sure just the heat from the exhaust will melt that stuff.

He is not lean. He does not have any flames coming out of the cut out.

Thanks again

the plan was to dump it straight down towards the ground so that hopefully the ground takes the heat and the rest sees no more heat than it usually would with a stock exhaust. now since it's dumping there it probably will see a bit more than stock, but i was hoping that pointing it down would let the heat dissipate a bit before making it to plastic pieces and not melt them
