Do I need to tune?

Hey guys!

I just bought a 2010 Speed3 from a guy and it has a Corksport SRI and some kind of test pipe that deletes the 2nd cat. Does this merit the 600 bucks for a Cobb AP? I'm not extremely worried about performance, I'm more worried about warranty and safety of the car running with the stock tune.

Thanks for the help!

Yes. When you throw on a test pipe, you need a tune and fuel internals to deal with the increase in air flow.

The cat deletion is the issue, the lowered backpressure is interpreted as lower load, it should still correct but I would agree with jtt and fp internals and an OTS starting map would be advantageous.

Well that being said, I talked with the dude that sold me the car. He is giving me the original pipe back, I think since it only has 17k miles on it im going to put it back to stock for now and be on the safe side with warranty and all that. The little power gained without a full exhaust isnt worth it for a dd.

Thanks for the help!
