Mazda Dealer has no transmission fluid?

:
2016 CX-5 Touring AWD
2019 CX-5 Reserve AWD
What gives, Mazda dealer doesn't have tranny fluid - I find that hard to believe.
Must be a ploy to not do the fluid change.

Did they not offer to order for you?
They're going to get back to me if they can't find any.
They said Mazda doesn't recommend changing the fluid.
I asked if Mazda is going to pay for repairs if something goes wrong with the transmission and it's related to the fluid. All I got was crickets.

That's insane. And if they get back to you what's the price going to be. It's liable to be over $20/qt. I've purchased the FZ fluid from different Mazda dealers online. This last time from this dealer. You pay shipping naturally but at $12.72/qt it's not too bad.

Order online or try another dealer.
Some dealers just dont want to deal with it and dont have it in stock. Same with Mazda Moly oil.

This is my go-to dealer for service. Don't they need to stock fluid so when they do the new vehicle prep they have it available if it comes from the mfgr. under filled? Or do they just let it slide.

Worst case I will order online and have it done at an Indy shop but I think the dealer will come through. It's easier getting everything done in one shot.

I had to order online. Local dealers basically quoted me a F U price. I guess it's a high dollar service so they dont to sell their inventory. Just a theory.

I can understand with the Mazda Moly oil but find it a bit outrageous that a dealer won't stock a specialty factory brand fluid that is essential and not widely available outside of Mazda. Would be pretty pathetic if you needed but had to order transmission fluid because the one Mazda dealer in the area doesn't carry it and the local auto parts stores are of no help. Yea, I know, dealers will do what dealers do but I've seen dealer prices of ~ $23/qt , so if you want it you're going to pay for it.
Still boggles me that they wouldn't carry it for service department needs.

I think the service advisor was blowing smoke because they don't really want to do it. I had to push them - that's when they said they'll have to see if they can find some.
I would bet money if I called the part dept they would have it.
Don't understand the reasoning because its money for the dealers service dept. It's like changing the oil.

Your best bet is going to be to order it online if your local dealer won't bring it in for you. Mine will sell me ATF no problem, but refused to sell me a transmission filter.

You think the prep guy is given the time to warm the transmission, remove the air cleaner, and check the ATF level? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Are you saying they couldn't change your car's fluid or they just didn't have any fluid to sell you? Likely all the oils they use in their shop are in bulk containers, not in the quart/liter containers they sell to customers.

That's funny right there!

Have you seen the procedure for checking the trans fluid? Ain't no way any dealership is going to do this. Without a doubt, their attitude will be, "it came from the factory this way, so it must be right".

The former. I wanted it done with other service I'm having done.
