here's the set-up 02 protege 5 with BEGI kit boost has been doing fine at 5 psi. Attempted to install a turbo xs dual stage manual boost controller I set the first stage at the factory 5 psi setting and the stage two (high) boost at fully closed just to get the low level right but when went out to try it boost went up to about 10 so i let off came back and closed the first level took the car out and still 10 psi so after messing with it for about 30 min and could't figure it out removed it and put it back stock and know with the factory hose installed (line going from wastegate to turbo) I'm still getting about 10 psi. If any could help please and thanks.

You might want to ask in the Forced Industion Section. It focuses on issues liek the one you are having.

the boost on the BEGi's T3 is controlled by the integrated wastegate. my guess is either the line on the wastegate is messed up somehow or you moved the screw on the actuator. adjusting that screw is how you change the level of boost.

that said, unless you have engine management and a built motor i would never go above 8 psi using just the fuel pressure regulator.

thats what i thought but i replaced the line with a new one. I don't see how the screw was adjusted becuase i just removed the pressure line.

to use a MBC well you acutally want to unthread the wastegate rod and to its lowest setting and then go from there.

And always put them at their lowest setting on the MBC too. Then work your way up.

I had a similar problem on mine but it ended up being the wastegate arm i made was too short and wasn't opening at all. I doubt thats your problem because you didnt change any of that.

well what aould cuase the boost still going up to 10 back at the factory setting?

I would agree the adjuster was moved accidentaly or maybe something is plugging the port somehow, so the boost isnt pushing into the diagram to open the wastegate
