Another turbo P5 thread...

HOLY SH!T IT STARTED!!!

It took some learning and time to get it to start, but it finally did. It'd fire, backfire, but wouldn't stay. Too rich. Once I got a hang of the Microtech system, it was pretty easy to mess with the values and keep trying different things.

And wow it sounded MEAN! 3" downpipe out, in my garage, DAYUM! I'm loving my new Harley Davidson :D I'm letting it cool down so I can add more coolant and mess with stuff, gotta bleed the brakes yet too. There was a little oil on the exhaust (wtf) and near the axle/rear motor mount, but none near any of my lines and what not. It is tough to tell what fluids are from the months of me making a mess and what are possible problems.

I'd get her on the road tonight, but I better wait until I get the BOV on. I'll have the flange welded on tomorrow and then hopefully it will be go time!

Found the leak, it is on the line that goes from the block to my oil field (where the sensors and turbo tee at :D). It looks like the line itself is bad, which is annoying. It was professionally made at McMaster. Oh well, I'll order a new one and probably have it Wednesday. I'll see what their customer service is like.

Also bled the brakes and added more coolant. Packed up the cold pipe and flange to have welded tomorrow. I need to pick up more PS fluid while I'm out.

It started fine again and hearing the turbo spooling and whatnot makes me very excited! My neighbors are going to hate me though, haha. I leave for work at 4:30am. I better not use this for work transportation until I get an exhaust lol Even then they'll probably be thinking... "oh god there goes ricer boy"

I'm doing my install tomorrow......I have a 16G turbo...holla...

Good luck! I'm psyched on mine and all I've done is rev it while it sets on jack stands in the garage, haha.

Glad to hear it lives again... It's taken long enough.
Hope mine goes a little better than that... What did it end up being 2-3months?
Pics and Vids soon?

I think it would have been 3 months on June 11th... so yeah, long enough :D

I dropped off the IC pipe at the welder today. Hopefully I'll get that and my new oil line tomorrow, if not Thursday at the latest. Then I'll get pics and videos for sure! It should be actual drive time around then too (naughty) I have Thursday and Friday off so I can spend lots of time fiddling with it.

If you had a kit, or at least OEM fitment type stuff, where all you had to fab was your oil lines and the ECU was plug'n'play; this would be a weekend project. Easy. I'd help ya if you were closer, heh. I've taken everything apart about infinity times now.

Yeah I set out atleast 7-10 days for the install.
Cant wait to get back to Daytona and start getting everything ready for the big project.
Good luck with the rest.

Some pictures of my intercooler piping

The cold side is good, assuming that first bend doesn't stick out too far and hit the foglight. Hot side is all kinds of fugly. I'm definitely going to redo that in the very near future.

The new line doesn't appear to leak, hooray! BOV is on and makes some noise. I'm done for tonight, it is crappy out and getting late. Tomorrow it is going on its wheels AND on the ground! I have the next two days off so I can play with it during the day and not worry about annoying people. w00t w00t w00t can't wait to drive it :D

I took it around the block a couple times, I need to bleed the lines again as my brakes felt like junk. Then hopefully I can get back out there and get a good tune on it.

I also ordered the GHL 3" cat-back exhaust to go with my downpipe I have from them.

The front end feels like JUNK. Seriously it feels like jello. No idea what the deal is, torqued everything to spec. One of the brakes still doesn't want to bleed very well. However these two problems could probably be linked, so maybe it is bled ok.

It sucks, it feels so bad I wouldn't even want to go fast... but I can't go fast because it cuts out at boost. I imagine that is just a tuning issue but I can't really tune until I fix the first problem :(

Check the vacuum on you brake booster.

Good idea. I've got a vacuum block in line with that. I think there is a check valve in there, maybe I put that in backwards when I reassembled it.

On the bright side, my vacuum is real nice. Like -22hg idle. BUT THAT IS BORING, I WANT BOOST!!! (drive)

This was brought up to me, perhaps it deals with my problem. I replaced that lower control arm, I wonder how screwed up my alignment is.

Why did you have to replace the LCA?

Like I said earlier, my favorite tool is a big hammer... :D

I guess I was a little too rough with the hammer and pickle fork, the ball joint got scraped up and when the new dust seal went on it'd rip.

Ah...that should alter the alignment enough for you to really have any problems, but it is worth double checking it when you get the chance.

Yeah I've got a free alignment thing and wanted to get in there soon, this will just give me more reason.

yeah 2.5", ebay univ pipe kit except for the part that goes from the throttle body to the fender well, that is from a MAM fmic kit.

i'm running ~8psi. well, i will once i can get in boost and maintain it :D

found one problem, front passenger brake is dragging. gotta tear apart the brakes and have the rotor turned.
