Any panels that require cutting and welding do not come out 100% perfect. Make sure they spray in new anti corrosion stuff when they do panels like that b/c they will rust at the spot and seamwelds. As long the bondo guy is good you shouldnt be able to see the line where its been welded in, unless you have a body guy looking at it.

Amy : Yeah, the body shop I took mine to said that they would probably weld it -- but then, after I showed them the dents I already had above my driver's side door on the 'extended' piece of the quarter panel, they decided to just replace the whole thing. I looked at the estimate -- $610 for that bastard. Total work $3800. But thankfully, my trunk is still in good shape (relatively speaking), it's mostly just that quarter panel and the bumper that were beat to s***. And the body shop I went to is award-winning too .. I hope it comes out okay, and I hope your shop finally gets your MSP right!

Thats good to hear... I was very happy with the repair until a couple months ago when i started to see the panel slowly seperate bad enough so you can tell...They told me they have never had that happen before and blamed it on the fact that its a protege and the unibody isn't meant to have any power since its a economy sedan (shrug) total b.s. lol

WTF, are you kidding me? They'd definitely be getting a verbal lashing if they said anything like that to me .. Idiots. So are you taking it back to try to have it fixed again? And if you haven't, could you maybe take a few pics of it? I'm curious to see what something like that would look like.

Oh! And Amy, I've been meaning to ask you .. do you have a site or album anywhere of pics of your MSP as it stands, with the CF lip and hood and FMIC and whatnot? Your MSP is pretty much what I'm aspiring to get mine to look like, someday when I actually get some MONEY .. so I'd love to see some shots of it.
