AFC-SplitSecond PSC1 Map Library

so your adding over 10?.. what map are you using, just because I really don't think that it should be that lean, especially if your map has #s of 10, which is neutral, but if your numbers are under 10, thank just add, but if your trying to add to 10+ (in the fuel map) than I have to think that there is something wrong, like some type of leak somewhere or something..hopefully someone can add to this

who decided 10 is neutral for our cars?
is this even accurate?
from reading that PDF, which by the way....this should be made into a sticky and added to the first post!!!!
it says to get to those numbers the AFC needs to be transparent, meaning that it is there, but it doens't affect the ECU reading...equal, 0% or close to 0% trimming needed after the cars learns its ECU.

has this been confirmed to be true? 10?
i need a ODBreader badly....

^^^ 10 means the signal is not being altered. IE, what the MAF, O2 sensor, etc send, the ECU recieves. This thread is beginning to get repetitive...

lol ya, a lot of info in it though, but ya a lot of this was covered about 20pages back, just hard to scan through it, it would be nice if the creator would add the general info or at least link it to the first page, so people that don't read the whole thing can get to it easier.. just a suggestion

the reason I'm running lean is because i'm on a stock atx ecu.

hm, not sure what a atx ecu is, i guess it is not a normal msp ecu? because as far as I know, no one, or at least most people don't have a problem with the ss afc tuning with the stock comp. because once it goes into boost the ss afc is suppose to take over and override the stock ecu and alter the signal, and the normal ecu is crazy rich as is.. but ya what do you mean by atx ecu?

^^^ Automatic transmission. The AFC will work just fine with non-MSP ECUs but you have to tune the other direction, adding fuel, and not pulling it. Getting up into the 14's though seems awefully high. IIRC, anything above 12.5 will result in fuel cut because the ECU will think they MAF is outputting more than 5V. Do this too much and you will throw a CEL. I think there are some other issues at work here.

Hey I need some help. I have a 2002 protege es with auto trans. Running msp turbo setup with ssafc v2. Installed 440cc injectors to help with fuel while in boost. But while cruising out of boost, esp between 15-5 of vaccuum the afr goes into the 10s and 11s. Has anyone experienced this problem with the 440cc injectors and regular protege ecu and can the afc do anything to help this??

Good God! Go back a page and open up the attachment titled "U-Tune-SS AFC.pdf". You want to tune closed loop (something we've already discussed here) and you will need an OBDII scanner to read the short term and long term fuel trims.

ohh, well ya I have no idea what to do about that stuff, that kinda sucks about the fuel problems, I just barely know my way around the MSP, haven't worked with reg. proteges ever. if it gives you too much trouble I would just buy an MSP ECU, if that will work with the auto trans..and again, I have no clue

I am proof the afc works with a regular protege ecu and I have the auto trans. But the afc is not enough. It needs to add fuel but you will max out the maf voltage and throw cel. Way around this is bump up fuel pressure or bigger injectors. I went with bigger injectors and its working very well with tuning while in boost. I just need to get the car running ok while out of boost since the injectors do throw it off a little.

Ok just read that document. So i see you can tune for closed loop. From what I now understand is that there is a little room to tune for closed loop. This is correct?? I see custom msp has done this successfully. Has anyone else? Also is there a map already out there for closed loop vaccuum tuning with cars with 440cc injectors? Or for that side of tuning everycar is different and one map will not work on others??

people have rarely tuned for closed loop, and finding a map will be even more rare, but it's one of those things where you should/or would have to go out and buy that monitoring thing they have in that article, or one like it and go from there

The most frustrating thing...why is it when I go to edit my fuel map...once I select a specific cell, the whole page gets squeezed!? I spend alot of time expanding everything back to normal/legible...and it's really annoying.

I'm I doing something wrong...or do I just have to live with this?

I tuned my closed loop map on friday. It was very easy. Still got to work out the open loop.

haha, I know exactly what you are talking about, it does get a little frustrating, I noticed that if you.. i think if you drag the top left(I think it was blank) box a little it spaces them all out, at least partially, It's been a while before I used it.. gotta start tuning my NEW MSP once I finish getting it in, next weekend (can't wait to have everything just about in, FINALLY) lol, but ya it takes time, wish there was a way to fix it, but oh well

that's cool, I haven't actually done it, didn't seem like it would actually be hard, just takes a lot of patience and time working through it, but nj, more maps to the library(thumb)

Ya I'm aware of the top left corner box....click it and it selects everything and makes things go faster when spacing things out....but still, what a drag. There's gotta be a way around this?

non found so far, at least nothing that anyone has cared to share with us, so pretty unlikely.. would be really cool if they came up with a small update for the software that would just fix that, would make a huge difference, or at least be much much more convenient and nice work work with.

another cool update they could do will be auto-tune.
you know, for V2 and higher...since we can datalog, why not take advantage of that....set a target AFR and bam, tuned!
