Catch can installed but I am still smoking

pcv is post metering so could be drivability issues if vent to atmosphere plus your killing the enviorment for us young ones/ our kids whatever way you want to look at it. did you drain your tmic while you installed the catch can beacuse oil still in the ic can cause smoking so it takes a while to cleer up. catch can will catch and capture the oil and other what not from the pcv system and trap in a media or can so you can dispose of. as oposed to burning it in the engine. turbo cars have a tendency to go through the oil quicker then NA cars so it helps out a little.

it'd be no different than throwing it in a can; crank case pressure and fumes aren't necessarily factored in any of the cars' tuning or metering. while it's vented back into the intake tract, removing them (the fumes) to a can, or the road (as people in here call it atmosphere) like they did in the 70's will not change the car's behavior in a negative manner, only positive.

it's just illegal, that's all. that is the only drawback.

You may want to try some "Krank Vents": http://www.et-performance.com/feedback.html

They're not cheap, especially since they're just shiney check valves, but they've been proven to work and I bet they'd solve a lot of the smoking issues with this car because I'm willing to bet your smoking issue is attributed more from a crappy PCV system than anything else.
