Well i got to state college, PA for this weekend and after i got there every time i would make a red line stop the afr's would go to 10(rich as ****) and then go back to normal ~14.7

I've never encountered this in NJ, where i live. Why is this happenening all of the sudden ??

^^ read it carefully, i stated that when i get to full stop my afr's get to 10-(rich as hell) as i stop then it gets back to normal.

why is this happenening ??

Well, are you venting to the atmosphere with your BOV? If so, then this would explain it. Mine does the same thing. It releases the air in the IC pipes which the maf has already compensated for, hence creating a rich condition in the cylinder
craig

mine goes way rich anytime i pull out of a gear be it to shift or to stop......not sure if that is exactly what you are explaining but it seems pretty normal to richen up if you are slowing down comeing out of gear with these cars.

does it stays rich for a long time or just a quick sec?

if i rev my engine very quickly it goes to rich, then to very lean and then to 14.7

when getting to a stop, it becomes rich then quickly 14.7

on those MAPS, dude,., i'm sorry i haven't been able to help you.
my mind is a mess right now...
TXT me the request tonite and provide me an email to send them

mine is different...it will go to 16.5 sometimes, then i rev it up, and it goes back to 14.9-15.2.....

Wait that doesn't sound right, does it sit at 16 or just when you tap the gas... Wait just explain in detail. It's normal to go above but only like if your in gear slowing down or something and it should be above 14 if your on the gas.

sometimes on startup it will just sit at 16..and then when i rev it up, it will go to normal...

oh oh, somewhat on topic convo...the gage tower i have in my car, doesnt have numbers on the air/fuel ratio gage, its just got a bar that goes from lean to rich, and when ever im driving or idling, the meter kind goes all over the place randomly, even if im gunning the car.....is that normal or is the gage a POS or something up with the car?

running stock + cold air intake

Which gauge do you have, I have the auto meter AFR gauge and it'll do that. At first when it's cold it just stays then when it's warmed up a few sec. maybe a min. it'll start to go back and forth. I usually get a steady rich when full throtle but then again I'm not staring at the gauge it's in my peripheral vision so I can see it just not paying attention most of the time. The road is more important.

Narrow band, gives you an estimate of your a/f, the air in the pipe is swirled and the sensor is reading rich/lean/rich/lean......, and thus translating it as that. Move on to a wideband so you can see exactly what your car is doing. Make sure you get a a sensor with Lambda.

It's the same thing, both sensors are reading swirling air it's just that the WB is reading different voltage and is WAY more accurate. Yeah I know narrows suck, why do they even use them why not move over to WB for factory sensors?

need some help, running am external wastegate, car's running fine, drop it in second for a little fun, as the rev's climbed quickly i hear like a release of air and the car goes pig rich, stumbling of course...it looks like i have a leak at the flange of the wastegate where it meets the mani, would that kind of leak (metered air i assume) cause a pig rich condition? thanks for the help!!

Do you have a blow off valve? That sounds more like your valve popped early, venting to atmosphere and the engine is still pouring in fuel.

yes i do...but my valve is not on the intake pipe?? but, the leak at the wastegate/manifold is an issues as well....(uhm)

Blow off valve is usually positioned on the coldpipe (pipe from intercooler to throttle body). If the spring it it is going, or the vac line to it is leaking or something of that nature, it might be malfunctioning. I'm no expert, but that's my $.02.

If you have a wideband that is going back and forth from narrow to rich in the LED bar. Throw it away. It is just a $50 light show. They are innaccurate as s***. Make sure to get a Wideband. AEM and Innovative make good ones.

Where the wastegate and manifold meet would only leak air post-combustion...so that wouldn't be "metered" anymore. Check IC pipes, etc, etc.
