XelderX's BG FSP Build

Agreed. I hope they come through on a set of 13's.

Did you let him know you'd be in?

EDIT: Justin, I forgot to ask: What size are those tires? Are they the aforementioned 245s?

I am curious as well. However, I am thinking those are 225's. Hoosier doesn't make a 245/15. At least none that I am aware of.

Van
right, that one. I thought I read 245 somewhere in this thread a little ways back... well, that goes to show how much I know. You crazy kids and your r-comps! You whippersnappers are off yer rockers! :p
Yea....they are 225/45-15 Hoosiers.
(cool)
I wish they made them for 5 lug :(

later this year grashopper. I believe the plan is to make a wheel for CSP MX5 fitment (17" iirc) later this year.

they actually look better on the protege than the miata, i think. heresy, i know...i'm still a fan of the RPF-1/K1-TS. won't stop me from buying a set of 7.5s next year, though. ;)

justin, can you clean up the edge of that trailing arm? just doing that should give you a decent amount of clearance. sheesh...that thing looks like a 'gator jawbone.

It's just the rubberized coating they put on it. It's already worn away where the tire was rubbing a little. It's not very tough. I can peel it off with my hand, but it shouldn't be an issue.

Hmmmm, well considering their prices for the 15", guessing a 17" will start in the low $200 range for 17x8 and probably nearly $300 a piece for 17x10. Sorry, that's too much in my book.

*shrug* 17x10s ain't cheap anywhere unless they weigh a ton. those prices are about in line w/ other comparable wheels.

Man...major U-Pull-It haul today! I went to the local U-pull-It yard looking for some fuel pump parts. I ended up having to call my Dad to bring his truck. I picked up 4 manual doors with really nice interior panels, a DX front bumper/support, DX back seats, and the fuel pump parts. I walked out of there with all that for $130. I might go pick up a few more interior pieces and the hood hinges tomorrow. Now the car is really starting to look like a Franken-Protege. Tan chassis with turquoise doors and bumper, brown carpet with blue door panels and rear seat.

Sounds like something we'd build for the Challenge. Sweet score, though.

Justin,
Did you get the suspension bits off of Will's car? I know that he modified some GC camber plates for the rear--do you know what they started life as and how they were modified? I tried PMing Will on SCCAForums...he's not around.

I talked with Will about the rear camber plates. I have a picture of them saved on my home computer. I'll post it and the template he used to modify them this afternoon. He said the plates were originally for a Neon, but he couldn't remember what model/year.

Thank you.

The outside of the car got uglier. Inside got nicer and lighter.

I installed the fuel pump today. Hopefully I can get off my lazy ass and put the calipers on tomorrow.

UPS visited today. Will Kalman super go fast parts FTW. I only got the front end stuff installed today (thanks UPS for delivering at 6pm). I'll do the rear stuff tomorrow.
