What have you done to your P5 today?

Nah I wanted a certain one because of the mods so thats a no go.Me in a miata umm no.Just looking to spice up the p5 alil more as of now.

You're probably honestly better off buying an S2000 and having a real sports car that's quick than spending $3-4k on wheels and a turbo kit for the P5 and it still being slow... Don't get me wrong, I love my P5, but I doubt I would've sunk this much money into it knowing it was still going to be slow. I would've kept the P5 as a daily driver and bought a sports car for the weekends.

Quick question. I have the opportunity to get rx8 rims for pretty cheap. I'm lowered on Evotion springs and am just wondering what size tire would fit for the rx8 18's on the P5. I couldn't find the specs of the rx8 rims yet and am trying to decide if I should get them or not. And I'm not even sure just how heavy they would be.

What do you guys think of RX8 rims on a P5? Any comments/criticism is appreciated.

It really doesn't matter to me at this point.Plus I was thinking I do need backseats.I'm not looking to make the wagon a drag car those are not my intentions just wanna spice it it since I plan on keeping it around for awhile now.You guys well see when I get done with it.

revised the air ride system and finally got it off the jack stands last night. it took 3 days this time (opposed to 1 day the first time). too many trips to Lowes haha... i added an adjustable dump regulator that i fabbed myself. The valves are so big that it makes it hard to get the exact pressure while driving. the air struts have been in there for almost 7 years! not too shabby considering 75k mileas and all the bad mcihigan winters it has seen.

Ultimately I would like to be able to control the air system thru the PC via touchscreen. i will be looking into pressure transducers and talking to my brother in law. He programs robots. Anyone out there have any idea if there is already a program for this? I know air ride has that digital system, but i want to integrate into my cars computer.

the system used to be in the trunk/ hatch area. i relocated it to the underside where the stock gas tank used to be. i have a fuel cell now and am trying to make everything look as clean and neat as possible. the original tank shield will go back on to help protect the system. I also have to get some grommets for where the air lines pass thru the trunk floor. there will be some more vanity covers that go around the fuel cell and the 4 channel amp so it should look clean when its all done. the very last thing to do will be a fresh paint job for the summer...

hydroplaned more in my p5 today. i really need to rotate my tires.

stupid rain. it was raining harder than i thought. went to pass someone, while going up an incline, giving it gas, but not going any faster. i notice my rpm's rising though. so yeah, just spinning my tires in the rain at 60 mph. fun stuff.

Me, being a Protege guy from the old days will say don't do it. 18's are way big for this car. I love the wheels, I think it looks good, but they require rubber band tires, and the brakes look like a CD behind the wheels.

Most of the other people on here will tell you to do it tho.

slow? a turbo p5 is far from slow

compared to any other modded car it is painful slow. fastest bj chassis is a 12 second (omg 11.9 with no doors or trunk or interior and drag radials, so i consider that a 12). the fastest not crazy built ones are in the 13's. you can do bolt ons on tons of cars and hit the 13s. thats slow

I agree, don't do it.

It's a relative term, really. How much wheel horespowa are you putting down, mate? I know Magnums turboP5 was putting down 215hp or so. If you bought a sports car that's already putting down 215 to the wheels STOCK, imagine how much more you will get from it instead of spending a bunch of money on the P5 to make it faster. Just saying, if you want a fast car, don't buy a P5. We all know this.

Yea, good point about the brakes. Totally overlooked that and I always hate when people have tiny brakes on big rims, looks out of place. Thanks for pointing that out... I think I'll have to pass on it. Even though they were only $500 for rims and new tires.
