What have you done to your P5 today?

so... i dont know where to put this really... but a buddy of mine in TOPEKA KANSAS has a dyno... and I asked him if i could have a dyno day... and he said yes... so im trying to get some people togather to have a dyno day... its gonna be the second weekend in may... at 5th gear motorsports.... im thinking 2 pulls for 40 bucks.. to see where your car is at HP wise.. im trying to get more tehn ten people.. the more people the better...

2 pulls for $40 is on the expensive side for a group dyno day. the local place here will do them $30 for 3 i also see $40 for 3 at other local places as well.

Yeah most places will do 3 pulls for $40 with A/F ratios.

Also, don't you mean Google, Kansas?
 
Actually Google was talking to people in Topeka about setting up an office there and employing a bunch of people and Topeka changed their name to Google to try to get them to pick that location for their offices. But it was just for April Fools.

I just got back from a Dyno day in Pittsburg. We all had 3 pulls for $40 on a Mustang dyno. I hope you get something going because I would love to see what other people are putting down as far as horsepowa and torque.

I had 115hp/112lbs @6500 and she was still pulling but I didn't want to go any higher as she has 123k miles.
 
Yeah, he's much more responsible about that stuff than I am. Had I taken my P5 to the dyno I would have been like "Screw it, blow it up!" Haha.

Got a CEL. Code PO171 (Lean Air/Fuel ratio)
-low fuel pressure
-large vacuum leak
-dirty/defective MAF sensor
-engine mechanical condition

Fun. Well, I just cleaned my MAF a month ago, so I doubt that one. Low fuel pressure? But she's running just fine. Could be a large vacuum leak. Since I did the VTCS removal it hasn't been running the same. It was really lopey at idle till I cranked the intake mani bolts down. Now it idles just fine at 700rpm and my cruise is working again. Engine mechanical condition? That scares the poop outta me...

In other news, I hate this Corksport exhaust tone. You were right, DUB. It sounds terrible. It's really buzzy, raspy and loud as hell. My old GReddy muffler won't bolt up so I don't know what to do now. Would welding in another resonator help?
 
I thought the Corksport sounded great from the YouTube videos I've heard, could just be something I need to hear in person though.

And this is exactly why I don't want to do the VTCS removal now, I keep hearing about people having issues. I hope you figure out what it is. Do you have the MP3 ECU?
 
Different strokes for different folks. I personally like the tone. The Greddy was a lot deeper sounding though.

That's why I got an MP3 intake manifold and ecu. Not work but to bolt it on (lol2)
 
yea somethings wrong with your car if the corksport doesnt sound good, it sounds the best out of all the exhausts made for the protege

the only time ive heard the corksport sound bad is with headers, and any car sounds bad with headers and catless

edit: and i never had any problems with my vtcs removal, guess u just have to know how to do it
 
any lol it doesnt matter which brand

i rode around with header->catless midpipe->CBE and it sounded like straight s***
this car needs at least one cat to tone down the exhaust note(unless your turbo), pre-cat or the cat. in the midpipe help keep it from sounding like a honda
