What have you done to your P5 today?

Hmm... When I removed my caliper, I used a BFH and smacked the hell out of it until it budged. LOL.

Actually it was much easier than I thought....took about 5 minutes. Before you cut, remove the rubber 'bushing' from the caliper so you can get a better look at the pin...and make sure to cut closer to the caliper side so you will have 'just enough' pin leftover to back out with a pair of pliers.

All good suggestions, some more so than others. And believe me, I tried a medium effing hammer and got nowhere; that lower pin was turning in the bracket instead of in the caliper, it's locked in there pretty solid.

Just finished cutting the pin (was surprisingly easy, thanks again for the idea CTt3P5) and reassembling everything with a new caliper. Unfortunately, I did it alone; I'll have to wait until a brother gets back from school or my dad from work to help me bleed the brakes before I can even get the thing going again. None of those fancy one-man brake bleeders, I do it old school.

Hey, glad that worked for ya. Gotta give credit where credit is due though. Bruce (Reitrof) helped me out as this was the first seized caliper I've replaced.

Well, since I'll need to put my catted midpipe back on in two years for E-Check anyway, I was thinking about having a muffler shop just weld it into the Corksport midpipe, or perhaps a high flow cat. Would that cut down on a lot of the rasp and buzzing and help the tone? I know it will hurt perfomrance but it's worth it to me not to have it so bloody loud. Angry bees FTL!

I was planing on just swapping midpipes for my OEM pipe but I don't think the midpipes will bolt up.

Nope, stupid cs has flanges in different places and wont let u replace the mid pipe, though I think you can run the axle back section with everything else stock.

The more cats and res u have, the deeper and sexier it will sound. I got a small high flow put into mine and notice a difference.

Awesome pic, DUB, thanks. I'll just print that out and take it with me to the muffler shop when I pick up a high flow next week or so. I know you're turbo, but did you notice if it took some of the rasp out of it? Even if it doesn't at least I'll be legal again with a cat.

I say the high flow cat will definitely fix the noise issue. Cats/resonators make cars sound a lot better, even though they hinder performance.

Yeah, it helped pretty good for how small it is. It made the car deeper sounding across all rpms and the sound is more crisp and tight rather than the loose like it gave off before.

any good brand for a high flow three inch/?? .... and is a SLIGHT smell of gas in the oil bad bad? or kinda normal for turbo?
( im runnin rich... even tuned... lol... tuned out at about 12.2 @ 3300 rpms @ 4psi

12.2? s*** son, that ain't rich! I'm jealous of that AFR.

But, in all honesty, you're sometimes better having one custom made. The 3" on my Miata (which... that concept alone boggles my mind) is a custom made stainless. Perro del Sol has a custom 3" on his Spicy. It's also custom made. Both cars sound awesome... but maybe because I'm slightly biased.

While I know it's a different engine, boosted, etc. here's an idea of what my 3" sounds like.

That Miata sounds sick! Probably one of the best sounding I've ever heard. Most of the ones I've heard with exhaust sound like Civics.

my miata does not sound like a civic...it sounds like a BP with an exhaust lol i actually really like the sound of my exhaust

Thank you sir. It's loud. Very, very, very loud.

that quiet probably about as loud as my spicy running the 2.5 into 2.25 straight side pipe....now you want loud i will post the video of the exhaust i had on my rx7
