What have you done to your MSP today?

well i didnt do anything to the msp. but i about cut my ring finger off. i got 5 stitches. yeah, it sucks

Shouldn't be trying to check for turbo shaft play why the car is running n00b...

something strange just happened to me.

im on the highway,cruising in 5th at about 70mph. driving like this for maybe 10mns. all of a sudden the car gets louder, sounds like revving in neutral, i press on the gas but it doesnt speed up. this goes on for about 2-3 seconds. then i feel a real small jerk, and the CEL comes on. i put it in neutral, let the rpm's drop, then put it back in fifth and everything is back to normal it seems. same thing happens one more time.

any ideas? its 12:30 am here so i cant get the CEL read

$10 says it was a misfire and your coil packs need replaced... EXACT same thing happened to me when mine went bad...

as far as the neutral feeling could it be a clutch?

did you replace the plugs yet?

Ignition Coils. Replace your coil packs and check your boot coils for corrosion. Might as well replace those too, most likely. And change plugs while you have the boots out. How old are your wires, as well?

It will start like that, random times on the hwy. And in about a month or so you'll start getting hesitation more often just as you shift to 2nd on a busy main road.

I have the hesitation in 2nd from time to time, last night when i started my car it was idling rough going from just over 1000 down to 300. gave it a little gas and it still did it but not as bad. turned it off then back on and every thing was back to normal

I still have a little bit of a rough idle from time to time, but my idle smoothed out a lot and I haven't had any misfires or hesitation since I replaced my coil packs and coil boots. I need to take off my EGR & IAC valves and clean them up.

4 10mm nuts hold on the engine cover, 2 10mm bolts for each coil..

other than that its a standard plug swap... drop the new coils and wires in place of the old ones. just be very careful threading the plugs. cross thread those and you're done. lol

Changing coils, plugs, & wires may be the easiest thing you can do on a car... Easier than changing oil, and thats 1-2-3.
