What have you done to your MSP today?

i cleaned mine also. getting ready to put her back together finally after a month.

ive also decided to forge it next year. when i hit 100k

Just a heads up but when you "grind a gear" your not actually grinding the teeth on the gear. A manual transmission has all of it gears (with the exception of the reverse idler) in constant mesh at all times. The "grind" you hear are the dog teeth on the synchro not going into place right.

The reason this happened was because the gear teeth themselves are weak and just could handle the power. A direct fix is replacing the gear with the beefier GTX gear

Ohh... that's good to know. So basically "grinding the gears" is actually more like "grinding the syncro?" If I grind while shifting alot, that means my synchro will go out, not my gears? I don't know so don't make fun of me for asking.

When (more like if) I end up being able to get the KLZE swap, I'd like to add the beefier gears and a welded LSD. What gears are the ones your are supposed to change? Like 1,3, and 5?

got my greddy ebc in the car today, just waiting on my dad to get back for the vac hose.. gonna read that lil bit of info it comes with again before i take the car out for a spin.. that thing has some wicked settings in it

edit.. got it all installed, somehow from yesterday when i took out the mbc and finishing.. the WGA decided to take a crap on me.. luckily i have a new one on the way

if i am not mistaken the trans will not bolt up to the kl engine since its a different family of engines. otherwise you will need an adapter plates to make it work.

And yes the synchro could go out but it takes alot of beating to do that.

Thank you sir (thumb)

te reason I ask is b-cuz my msp is torn apart in a shop right now as we speak its gettin a gt3071r,forged pauter rods and arias pistons, And a good friend of mine told me i might as well weld the lsd while its all out the car.

I'd recommend it, just make sure it is the housing that gets welded and not the spider gears. Again, look up a picture so there is no mistake.

Yeah you're going to need the tranny that can go with that engine or like Korey said, an adaptor plate.

No worries. That's that little black plastic piece right? Mine looked like crap so I just took it off. Looks fine without it. Thought about doing the Home Depot lip trick. Would that look good on a Spicy though?

I know the BB line ID is 3/8 and the vac line running to the BPV is 3/16 ID but what size "T" fitting do I need, do they come is "Sizes" of do i buy them based on the id of the two lines? I only ask since one is larger than the other. Still no luck in getting NPT thread fittings for my vac block so for the time being I am just going to run a "t" fitting off the BB line to my new RDV. I need to know asap cause I have to buy it today as the car is going in tomorrow

I'm tellin' ya, check McMaster. They got what ya need. I actually used a setup from someone else here.

1) Aluminum Manifold with 3 ports (black) (part # 5469K113) is $13.63
2) 1 pack of 5346K18 is $5.41 (10 barbs is included)
2) 1 Pack of 5346K11 is $5.13 (10 Barbs is included)

(Thanks goes to Ryoga)

I know, my problem is i was looking for fittings for my vac block but i figured out what is wrong, the vac block is not properly bored out for 1/8" Im sending it back to vibrant to redo the threads. I am going to try something else, I may even do exactly what you did. Thanks for the help

No problemo. I looked at the Vibrant and others but in the long run, the McMaster way was soooo much better. Great quality and a hell of a lot cheaper.

at the pepboys where i got the fittings there was a brake part that was like a mini brass "T" that I can use these fittings for as a temporary fix

haha, funny how this is becoming a common sight now...especially from those who don't want me to sell =P
