What have you done to your Miata today?

For all you Miata-ites that plan on doing any major suspension work in the near future, I've FINALLY found an effective took at separating the ball joints from the knuckles:

It actually preserves the ball joint's dust boot really well. I had one that was REALLY siezed up in the knuckle. Beating it w/ a hammer didn't work, pickle fork didn't work, and as usual, most ball joint separators don't really fit up well to the miata's knuckles. Went and picked this up and within 2 minutes I had the ball joint out lol. clamp it down, torque it as hard as you feel you need to with a wrench / ratchet, hit the "big" piece that goes over the ball joint's stud w/ a hammer a couple times, and, with mine at least, it popped out of the knuckle like it was shot out of a gun. Something that usually involves a LOT of cussing done in a couple minutes with no real sweat. Love it

Because they (I) didn't know any better? But yeah, I think in doing the 2 lower front ball-joints today, IMO it's paid for itself. I spent about 1/4 of the time today tearing down the entire passenger side suspension (tore down the brakes, disconnecting the sway bar, pulling the coilover, and popping out the ball joint) than I spent yesterday JUST in trying, and failing, to pop the driver's side ball joint off. I love it when something just works the way it should. I'd say just today I saved well over $16 in aggravation over using other ball joint pullers or a pickle fork

Ran in an Auto-x on Sunday, still getting my ass kicked in street-prepared, probably for lack of experience and R-Compound tires. If memory serves I wound up beating a gutted turbo Eclipse though, and I was one of only two or three street-prepared cars that didn't show up on a trailer (including a Mazdaspeed Miata).
I really like the FM springs for a mixed-use Miata, if it was track-only I'd probably go stiffer. I think I'm going to need some sway-bars because I'd like to have a bit more oversteer.
AMaff- where did you get your d-prep wheels/tires from and for how much? 13x7s and some r-comps are probably going to be the next thing on the check-list after new sway bars.
Well, I'm not running R-comps, but I got the tires from http://www.jbracingtires.net/.
He sells take offs for very little $$. Basically got a full set of tires shipped to my door w/ plenty life left for less than the cost of a single tire new lol. I'd recommend against e-mail, give John a call and he'll work with you to get the tires you're looking for.
