What have you done to your Miata today?

I have the same damping vs dampening pet peeve.

At least you can still drive your Miata... with the top down no less!!!!! ;)

If you hopped in the car and drove it with the bigger wheels on it, you probably wouldn't know the difference, especially since you don't have a reference point. If you want to see if you can tell the difference between them, drive with the bigger ones on then swap to the stockers. I am willing to bet you will feel it. Wheels tend to come down to personal preference but most folks with Miata go with 15" as the best overall size.

And I can't figure it out, where is NL?

Thanks Chiefmg.

I agree, not having a reference point, I probably wouldn't notice. My current daily driver is a 2007 Corolla (5 speed) and a 2003 Kia Sedona. Coming from these vehicles will probably make me really like the Miata, even if it does have big heavy wheels. I will probably swap to the stockers and put on new rubber. I bought this car for driving enjoyment, looks are secondary.

I really like the BBS rims that NA M Editions used to come with. Maybe I'll hunt around for a set of them. Nice and light and look good too.

Regarding where Newfoundland is, we are an island province located in the north Atlantic. I live 15 minutes from Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America. Great place Newfoundland. I am originally from Toronto.

Would these be better? I'm not sure of the weight. What do people think of the price (and I wonder if I could sell what I have to finance)...

I know where Newfoundland is (I sail the Seven Seas for a living so have a pretty good handle on geography), I just had never seen it abbreviated like that before. I actually interviewed with the shipyard there years ago, didn't get the job (which was a good thing in the grand scheme).

NL is the new abbreviation now that our province is officially Newfoundland and Labrador.

Thanks for the info, now I can amaze the Canadians I work with.

Received my factory 6 speed tranny manual, that should complete my collection for this car. Went ahead and ordered an aluminum coolant overflow tank off eBay, the round one I bought was too tall to fit. I'm going to get the new one powdercoated to match my valve cover and catch can.

So no one did anything today? I washed, clayed, glazed, and waxed a Miata as a thank you for a hook up. That thing was CLEAN when I was done with it.. Tomorrow I attack my MS6 and maybe the MSM before I lay it up for the season.

You're welcome. It definitely does look like a completely different car and the evo orange looks awesome in the sun.

It is driven daily now. I helped clean it up and make it purrrrrty again. I wish I could post some before and after photos.

thought I could get away with using all seasons for the winter, turns out I can't unless I drive 30MPH or under... so I'm having some blizzaks put on the stockers

Hmm... I didn't have much trouble when I was in Charlotte thru that snow storm on the way home from Daytona.

Mine went into storage yesterday, but since I get really annoyed more often than not with people on this forum, I don't hop on here when I'm not at work. Will pop a couple pics up soon.

yeah, my ex had these same tires on her fuckus a couple of years ago, i drove it in heavy snow and it was fine so i thought i'd be OK... not so much with this car, I was sideways for a while, and it was spinning going from a stop at like 1500 rpms... the worst part was probably the braking

Hmm. I know the ABS in these cars is insanely sensitive. I had the same issue when I would take the MSM out in the winter for top-down valley terrorizing. Only time I would have tire spin was letting out the clutch. After I was rolling, I would hit the gas and not have any issues. Have you had an alignment yet?
